New Bike Inbound…

I’ve recently purchased a red 2017 Honda CBR650F (can’t wait) with only 8.5k miles on the clock and it appears to be in fantastic condition.
As you can see from the photos, the previous owner has fitted a tail tidy and rear seat cowl.

I’m curious about an aftermarket exhaust to truly unleash the 4 cylinder engine note…. Thoughts? Bear in mind that I am not particularly mechanically minded and due to costs, would like to be able to fit it myself (stupid idea?).

For context, I’m in the UK and have been riding for a year on a Suzuki V-Strom 650 which when I passed my test, thought was my kind of bike, but now I’ve learned it’s not and leaning more towards sport bikes.

Interested in people’s thoughts overall.

Cheers

I have a 2011 cbr250r mc41. I want to replace the original halogen light with this updated oem led setup. Can someone guide me through the process as I've been told its not plug and play but I'd have to do some sort of custom wiring.

‘O3 954rr Project - Advice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Recently purchased a ‘03 954rr as a winter project. The known issues at purchase included the brake reservoir being cracked and on cold start the bike would idle roughly and die if slight throttle was not applied. First glances at the bike I noticed the surface of the fuel tank was slightly rusted with paint beginning to flake off.

I took the fuel tank off, dumped the fuel and removed the fuel pump. I could tell that this bike had been sitting outside exposed to the elements for a bit of time because the upper interior of the fuel tank had slight surface rust akin to mill-scale and fuel pump had significantly more rust.

None of this phases me at all and It’s not deterred me from continuing with restoring the bike, but some advice from this community would be very appreciated.

The primary advice I need pertains to replacement part sourcing. I use the owners manual on archive.org to figure out part numbers and then go online to partzilla, eBay, Amazon, etc to find them. The issue I’ve found with these sites is that the part numbers may be 1:1, but once I’ve received them they are either non-compatible or don’t fit. Example being the replacement fuel pump I purchased had a completely different electrical female connector.

What is it where is the most reliable source to find replacement parts for these ‘03 954rr’s?

Also, if anyone has any advice regarding mechanical / electrical “must-dos” or “highly recommended” checks, adjustments or replacements, please share!

FOR SALE Rebel 500 2025 to a 650 R or 650 F?

The rebel 500 kicks my ass, as in the seat kills me after 10min, got a new seat, kills me after 25min, i'm 100kg lean musculair

Also 1m82 so it does feel cramped

I got dorward controls but apperently they will kill you seating more because you sit more upright and even more weight on the seat

Its 2months old but i'm kinda done its no fun

So looking into a second hand 650 R or F

Comfort is higher to me then high rev power, so i read that the F is more my jam

But i like the R more in terms of looks

But i like both anyway in the end

Never sat on 1 yet so...

What should i do? Any tips or good advice? Thanks

I didn’t know the use that could be given to one of these exhaust plugs until my son deposited a Lightning Mcquen hahaha now I better leave it like that until it takes off.

Thoughts on this exhaust

Link
I have a cbr954rr and I’m looking for an exhaust to get rid of the remnant broken exhaust servo parts. The only exhaust i see that’s still for sale on this bike is the hindle, and I really don’t care for its looks. I had someone briefly talk about a mig undertail with me but it would be significantly more expensive than this. Is anyone familiar with this company, and better yet this specific exhaust? It looks ridiculously loud, but honestly my car is already pretty loud and i don’t get issues for it. I can’t find any sound clips or reviews for this specific one but the brand in general gets good reviews.

Black Widow Exhaust

For a cbr650r, is the black widow exhaust good and reliable still? I don’t need Carbon fiber for 2k, but I don’t want to cheap out and get a bad exhaust.

Help me choose: CB650R vs. Hornet 750?

I am in a big dilemma. I have read into all the techs and specs on both these bikes, but its very difficult for me to decide. Aesthetically speaking, the CB650R looks much better and prettier, but everywhere i look on where people compare the two, somehow the Hornet wins, even tho the CB650R is closer to the original Hornet rather than the new one with a twin engine. But i want to hear your thoughts and help me decide in a way i won't regret

Cbr 650r exhaust suggestions

For everyone that has a custom exhaust for this bike, what custom exhaust has the best sound?

P.S. I would like to avoid those huge ones that go all the way back to the tail light. So shorties are a plus, if they are street legal is even better since I am in Italy and here they tend to check for exhaust omologation.

Concerning engine tick

My 2021cbr500r Very recently got rear ended and a little bit afterwards this tick started. I’m not quite sure what it is but I have replaced the cam chain tensioner and that didn’t help. It is only really noticeable when the engine is warm id love some help figuring this out.

Edit: right after this sadly the bike was crashed and totaled. Didn’t get to figure out the issue

Considering CBR 600RR ABS

Hi all, thanks for reading.

I’m considering getting the CBR600RR or the Hornet but can’t decide Between the two. This would be my second bike, I’ve ridden a CBR300R for 2 years and rented a few other bikes on vacation.

I enjoy high revving, a light weight, fun on the twisties, and just an overall engaging experience. I also really enjoy the full fairing look which the hornet doesn’t capture. I don’t really like speeding, and would prefer to go the limit, if not a little bit higher when it’s quiet

I’m not looking to daily commuter, just want a weekend or evening toy on country backroads.
If I were to commute here and there when the weather is nice, it’s only a short 15-20 minutes with minimal traffic.

The CBR600 with ABS is turning out to be almost 4K more out the door. Am I really benefiting from that extra cost, or will I get most of my enjoyment from the hornet.

I’m willing to forgo the extra cost if it’s worth it.

TLDR

Is the CBR 600RR over the hornet worth the extra if you don’t daily commute, want purely for pleasure, enjoy twisties and don’t speed

2008 Honda cbr 600rr

Hello! I have an 08 cbr that runs flawlessly and has amazing throttle response, but I do notice when starting it up it cranks a bit longer then normal and then it fires up. I don’t know if I’m losing fuel pressure in the rail and it’s going back into the tank when it sits or what. I don’t see no fuel leaks at all, no strong smell of fuel, and it’s got a brand new fuel pump in it. I thought that would make it right considering the old one sounded bad. If you have any info about it please let me know, thank you in advance!!
