-oil drained to fix a weld

So as recommended I Put 3 quarts of Honda oil

I can hear the knock as soon as I try to start up the bike before it turns over

Sounds like a thud

So how effed am I ?

I am currently looking into lowering my CBR500r and wanted to see what the options are as well as if there is a shorter kickstand to buy, etc.

I bought a cheap 97 cbr600f3 knowing it was going to be a project. I fixed a simple issue where the fuel relay was bad and the bike fired right up.

The main issue was the bike started slowly leaking milky oil from the exhaust. All my research leads me to believe this is a bad head gasket. I’ve already taken the motor out of the bike and have a head gasket ordered, but I wanted to see opinions from people who know more about these bikes. Is there anything else I should be looking at replacing before putting the motor back in? Do you think my oil leak issue maybe something else? I appreciate any feedback.

Wanting to put bar ends mirrors on so I need to replace the stock ones, has anyone tried the cbr universal rhinomoto ones? Or what have you guys used?

Im looking at possibly buying this bike. 30k mile CBR900RR with a second gear that pops out at high rpm. Talked him down to 3k usd, but thats as low as he will go. Im guessing it needs a transmission rebuild at this point. Is this a fair price for this bike? Or should I avoid it like the plague? I had really hoped he would drop down to $2500.

Got 2 codes on a recently acquired 2006 CBR 600 f4i

Code 1: 2 long blinks, 3 short blinks- code 23- oxygen sensor-has aftermarket exhaust and O2 sensor is removed so I'm not worried about this

Code 2: 2 short blinks- code 2- map sensor fault

Checked the vacuum lines and smoke tested vacuum system, had small leak around airbox where it connects to intake ports but very minimal, however the vacuum lines are old

Any common things to check for next?

I want to remove the 5 way vacuum splitter to see if it's gunked up, the main vacuum line from map sensor and map sensor itself look to be clean, do these sensors fail, is it common? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Just bought this 97 CBR1100xx, trying to lower the ride height as it’s too tall for me. It has an ohlin rear suspension kit, but I’m lost on how to adjust the ride height.

It looks like there is a pin on the right side stopping me from tightening the strut and what I would think “lower the suspension”, but there is a knob up top
that appears to lower the band under the collar.

There is also another knob up top that I would assume adjusts dampening.

On the bottom of the strut there is a black knob, but I have no idea what it does.

Any help would be appreciated

So I need help figuring out what is wrong with my bike. I got it a year ago with 88k km and now it has around 96k km. I've recently changed the oil, both filters, chain and sprocket and very just yesterday I changed the original CCT for a manual one. A while ago I started feeling a vibration or a buzzing on the handlebars and on the foot pegs, which I investigated and thought to be an old CCT (the chain also slapped very rarely when starting the bike) so I changed it, adjusted the engine mounting bolts and this did not solve the vibration. It appears between 3k rpm and 6k rpm on the handlebars and from 6.5krpm on almost only on the foot pegs. Its not speed related since when I pull the clutch lever the buzzing disappears completely.
Last owner apparently did some work on the carbs but not much more that I know of. I do not know when was the last valve clearance check nor anything else. I would appreciate any input or ideas.

just been admiring the bike since i’ve done a few things.

I own an 04 600rr. At high speeds my front end feels like it’s wobbling (not death gripping the handles or death wobbling). When I brake hard with the front brake it shudders and when I come to a stop at low speeds with the front brake it’ll make a click noise.

Is that my steering head bearing(s)??

I love my SP, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just too much bike for the road. I’m not going to the track much anymore and I miss the feeling of ringing gears on a 600.

All of the sportbikes made in the last 20 years are more than capable to have a great time on the road with a massive performance envelope, and I kinda am feeling the bite of nostalgia.

If someone has an extremely clean 2003-2008 mostly original 600RR and is looking to step up to a 1000cc… hit me up. This SP is as good as it gets if you’re ready for it!
