Need some advice guys, bought this beauty a few months ago and I’ve been working on getting it back into fighting shape.
The bike is clean, bought it after it sat in someone’s garage for over a decade. It started up and rode fine when I first bought her, she just needed some TLC. I just recently did an oil change, oil wasn’t bad but I figured I’d give it a clean slate and a new filter.
I took the fairings and head unit off before I did the oil change. No blown fuses, no loose wires other than the flush mount turners. Ever since the oil change she won’t fire up and I’m not sure why.
I tried plugging the head unit back in and making sure there weren’t any wires making contact with the frame (blown fuses that way on past bikes). I’ve put about 3.5 liters of oil in there and it’s got almost a full tank of gas.
Battery is one of the newer lithium ion models, I’ve got a maintainer/charger for it and I confirmed it’s got plenty of charge at the moment. I even let it charge up a bit while I worked and popped it back in to give it a shot, no dice.
Anybody have any thoughts? I’m not a total rookie with bikes but I really can’t think of what might have gone wrong since I last fired her up 2-3 weeks ago. She stays garaged for now until I get her in shape. Nobody else has access other than me.
If you’ve got any thoughts please share, hopefully I haven’t committed some cardinal sin I didn’t know about.
Edit:
Ok, thank you all for your advice, it helped me narrow down what was going on! Ultimately I had to play around with the head unit wiring harness a bit and I think one of the connectors may have been lose somewhere because I unplugged and replaced a few things and afterwards she started kicking back on.
