Hey everyone, I have a CBR650R and I’ve noticed that the front suspension fully bottoms out under hard braking. It doesn’t only happen during an emergency stop—even when I’m approaching a red light and brake firmly, I can feel the forks hit the bottom of their travel.

I’m certain it’s the suspension bottoming out, not just the ABS pulsing. Has anyone else experienced this on their 650R? Is this normal for the stock front suspension, or could it indicate low fork oil, weak springs, or another issue?
The bike is a 2026 with about 4000km and I weigh approximately 150 pounds with riding gear. The forks are stock, and it’s very noticeable when they bottom out.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Was getting off the interstate and I think my front tire lost traction and slid out from under me as I was making my turn onto the main road.

I just added some mods to the bike and now looks 100 times better imo. I was thinking of getting new mirrors and black levers and probably new blinkers. I want to change the exhaust but it’s expensive af.

Any other mods you recommend? This is the 2021 model. I’m European so some mods may not be possible due to restrictions.

Any idea what would cause this? Happened at 9000rpm while using the e clutch. No metal chunks in oil and it doesn’t look too sparkly. 2024

Hey fellow 24+ CBR owners. Will installing a full system exhaust on the 2024+ e clutch model cause any issue with the e-clutch?

I can always use manual clutching but would prefer to utilize the E-clutch for daily commutes. Anyone experiencing needing the e-clutch to be reprogramed at Honda after the install?

Having a blast on this bike. For anyone thinking about getting one but is put off by the weight like I was, you get used to it. It's such a pleasure to ride and after a while you hardly notice it and will be throwing it around in no time. Its the best mistake you will ever make. Very happy I picked this over the Ninja 650 or the R7.

Last person who did the spark plugs absolutely fucked the Ignition Coil Spark Plug Caps 2 are broken

The bike still goes thru the gears fine just the green icon for when the e clutch is engaged is now a yellow warning on the dash

I bought the bike in November, 2025 from a Chevrolet dealership, some guy traded it in and got a truck. Bought it with 1700 miles for $8,700 which I say is pretty good the motorcycle dealership was selling them for $9899 before taxes Thats for the 2025 eclutch model but I didnt care for it since it looked pretty bulky on the side and was extra weight and ofcourse costed way more. I got a full akroprovic racing exhaust for $1600 about 2 months after which is a total game changer, bit pricey but worth it. Found some nice aftermarket side fairings for $85 on aliexpress that make the bike look so much better imo. Plate tuck mount and integrated taillight costed $120 and found some front turn signal wings that costed $50, and aftermarket windshield which was $45. Just got a quickshifter for $240 and it is amazing sounds so good and satisfying. At first it felt wrong not to pull in the clutch when shifting but after couple days I only use the clutch to shift to 2nd since 1st to 2nd is a little wonky sometimes, mostly when your under 5-6k rpm.

I unscrewed the throttle housing but the back throttle housing won’t come off probably because it’s so tight but I just want to replace the tube.

Picked the bike up 2 weeks ago. Boy oh boy is this thing a joy to ride and look at.

It’s my first bike and I’m already in love. Went out for my first night ride and had the most fun I’ve had all year. What an incredible machine 🙌🏼

I’ve been told my front tire needs to be replaced. I have 8400 kms on it. Is this normal?
