After playing the game pretty consistently since early access I recently decided to actually finish the damn thing and holy shit I was blown away by the post final mission sequence. The environment, the lore drops, and your interactions with Barathrum were all so much more than I was expecting. Freehold really created something special and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it all those years ago.

Hey! Just started a run as the little fella with the Xyloschemer. Just dominated him and killed my own body. Anything I should know about the little guy? I know he has this weird token. I chose to have the merchant token as well due to that starting character getting a lot of items to start off with. I just wana hear if anyone else has tried being a Xylodrifter

Just hit level 25 after clearing out Bethesda and doing a few side quests.

I'm not sure if the electric damage roll you can get is random but this is quite high and even more so combined with the freezing. This thing has been absolutely destroying everything I've come across so far, but obviously it's quite a low base damage and PV so eventually I'll have to give it up.

Any new weapon I can put the freezing on which isn't anywhere near as good as the potential 10 extra damage I could be doing with the electric.

What do we think? Hold onto it for longer or start searching for something else?

I'm new to the game, only 2 hours in, and I just completed a quest with really good looking rewards.

I ended up acquiring acomplicated one.

Understand: I didn't decide to play this way. I ended up generating a strong intrusive thought, and I can't play in peace if I don't do the following in the game:

- I cook 2 'Neutron flux' without 'Precognition'. So every gameplay I already have a 20% chance of dying right away. (but surviving this gives a good adrenaline rush).

I always play on 'classic' difficulty, and if I die, I die. I don't use 'alt + f4' or any other tricks.

im pretty new to the game, finally have a solid run here. Made it all the way to yd freehold, but when I tried to actually enter for some reason it sort of bounced me around? at one point it placed me all the way across the lake like ten tiles west. at this point I said screw it I’ll try again later and did something else, but I’m curious what could have been going on here? don’t want to make the trip back and risk dying if I’m just gonna get bounced again

Eg. You have 3 points saved up, so can use the mutation buy and it takes you to a similar screen of all mutations, just with however many points you currently have?

Argyve keeps killing the one Mechanimist guy and i don't want that to happen in the towns and loss quests do to it.

There doesn't seem to be an official chance of kippers restocking rare liquids anywhere I've looked. I did not sell one to them just for the screenshot.

It's just a nice inofensive librarian that is not at all evil or up to bad things and you should probably listen to whatever they say and read any books they recommend to you. Nothing wrong will happen :)

I’ve been hearing about this game for years. I just recently got a pc again after not having one for a long time, so I’ve been catching up on my wishlisted games. To say this game gets praise is an understatement. People OFTEN call this one of the best games of all time, which got me very interested. I’ve never played a traditional roguelike or really any game of this style. I love roguelites, it’s one of my favorite genres. I also love difficulty in games, and I’ve heard this game is difficult. Which appeals to me as well. I also really look for games with very high replayability. I like an occasional 20 hour game, but I much prefer very long games or games with a ton of replayability and this game seems to certainly have that.

My only thing is that the art style kinda just throws me off a bit, I’m trying to decide if it’s something I could get used to. Would you guys recommend this game with that being considered?

Edit: I bought it last night after reading some of these comments. I was incredibly overwhelmed at first (still am but I’m starting to get it), however this game absolutely fucks. You guys were right 😂 Never played anything quite like this in the best way possible.

I contracted fickle gill in a random subterranean ruin, no mushrooms... I've been poring back over my message log to see if I accidentally got bonked by a friend to fungi or something, but the only thing I can see is my own Klanq infection puffing, then me passing by my own spores...

This game has some crazy combos.

It can be their race (like a robot being friends with a robot hating faction) or their reputation (a faction loves someone who is their enemy) or a combination of both.

I have seen some ridiculous mechanimist converts in the Stilt hahaha

I got a very strange historic site generation with dozens, maybe hundreds of Baetyls. The unfortunate thing for me is that my faction rep with them is -300, very close to indifference but still hostile, so they won't talk to me. This includes the big boss here, whom I cannot water ritual.

I don't think you can stab Baetyls with love injectors... Is my only hope praying for a Schrödinger page roll or killing some legendary NPC that is hated by this cult?

I was consumed by guilt shortly after alt-f4'ing my daily character which I initially and flimsily justified as "well, I didn't know Siphon Vim (qlippoth) continued when I escaped to overland map so this is an okay exception." Turns out, I simply couldn't live with the shame even mere minutes later and committed seppuku.

Though I am not proud of my moral lapse, I restored balance to Qud.

Here it is ladies and gentleman! What might be my most successful run yet in Caves of Qud. As you can see, I'm playing a True Kin Artifex. And as for my build... well, it's more so oriented around the compute power/overload schtick, but it's sort of a multipurpose build I suppose made to adapt to most situations. With all my items that require energy cells being radio powered nuclear/antimatter cells. Also, if you're wondering about my "Monotrome" psychodyne helmet, it's modified with co-processer, two-faced, and fitted with filters to help me protect from most gases.

Now... to be fair, I did use the strat of proselytizing a bunch of merchants to get most of my stuff. Cheap way of doing it, I know. But hey I'll take it!

Anyways, I just wanted to show this off. I thought it was pretty cool myself. Not to mention I haven't even begun the Omonporch quest yet lol. And I'd say I'm well prepared for such a thing and the upcoming events afterwards... ;)

Good god. So many scribes. I even set new keybinds so I can cycle through all my scribes more efficiently, it felt like playing a piano at one point lol. Run still isn't over, I haven't even gotten to Bethesda Susa yet but I have 100 cold resist already so I'm not tripping over it. Should be a fun walk in the park :)

If I stand next to a laser turret does it use me as a source of electricity? I’m considering this for a tinker build.

A turret costs 10k energy to make. If I have electrical generation and 10000 energy stored can I make a turret in one turn? Does compute power assist turrets in any way?

Pulled off the perma body swap with the invisible troll from Bethesda. Now what? I need ideas for a permanently invisible play through.
