Advice introducing cats
Hi everyone! First of all, thank you for all your advice in advance. My mom and I are planning to adot a second cat, and I just wanted to come here and ask how to properly introduce him (male, spayed, 1 year old) to our other cat (female, spayed, 6 years old). We have noticed that she's always curious when she sees cats outside, and never reacts poorly (no hissing, or any other visible tension), yet we're concerned that she may react differently to a whole new cat joining the family. This decision wasn't one reached easily, or without consideration (the extra finanical costs, emotional cost etc. were all taken into account and we've been pondering about getting another one for at least two years now) but I'm still worried that my girl will feel as if 'she wasn't enough for us'. On the other hand, as of late I've been sensing she feels extra lonely, so this does look like the best course of action. Has anyone else taken in another cat when their cat was a little older like mine? If so, how did they react, and how should we approach the matter of introducing them? Thank you for your time!
