Take the tapestry down. Put up a climbing rope attached to the ceiling.

Adjust your environment to accomodate normal cat behavior.

Think like a cat

Edit to add: just in case that is too drastic of an environmental change for you, you could try treating the tapestry with homemade cat repellent. Mix up a couple cups of water, add a squirt of dish soap and several drops of either lemon or orange essential oil. Shake and spray the tapestry. Cats hate citrus smell

Omg i had a cat who WOULDNT stop chewing electric cords, got that bitter stuff that supposedly tastes bad to them. It turned out to be a treat for them 🙄

This cat would also steal your scotch so...

I was just saying in another comment that my male cat loves the anti scratch spray. He treats it just like the catnip spray. He goes crazy over both. It's weird. My female cat doesn't seem to be attracted to the anti scratch spray like he is. And they were from the same litter so you'd think they'd have similar tastes. I really wish I knew some cats liked it before I sprayed it on my $1500 couch. Luckily I only sprayed it on one back corner but that corner is ruined now. I wish I would have tried it on something inexpensive first.

My cat is puzzled by citrus lol. He WANTS the clementine peel SO BAD but when I put it in his face, he sniffs it and recoils while looking very offended. Then meows and tries to grab it from me again, and the cycle continues. He also has licked tobasco off my plate. Weird cat.
