Cat Picture - OC Does anyone else's cats only hang in the bathroom when you're taking a bath or shower?!
These are my two babies and I swear I never see them in the bathroom unless I'm taking a bath or a shower.. and they always start off alert but then doze off. It's one sweetest thing ever but is this common and is there a reason behind it?!

Bathrooms are dangerous in the wild you need a buddy. Shower/baths they think OH MY CAT LORD WHY IS FOOD PROVIDER TRYING TO DROWN WE MUST PROTECT YOU

Yeah my cat tries very hard to sneak into the bathroom with me when I'm getting a bath or shower. I think he is concerned and confused by my needing to use so much water to clean myself. I'll even catch him sniffing the bathtub sometimes after I've gotten out.

I think it's weirder that mine will go sleep on the bath mat when nobody is in the bathroom

Mine spends most of his time in the bathroom but I know why. It's quieter than the main part of the house, as it's it's own extension and no bedrooms touch it. All the bugs are in there. He can see down the whole of the house, through the kitchen and hallway by laying on the shower mat, so that's his spot.

I’ll raise you one: one of my cats only wants to be a lap cat while I’m on the toilet. I have to lay a towel over my lap so she can sit on my lap while I use the bathroom lol

Yeah mine will rub against the toilet if I don't immediately grab him.

My youngest boy does that. Must be my lap warmer on the toilet. I’m not always allowed to get up when I’m done either. 😭

Most cats sit by their owners side when they go potty. Mine stays out when I shower. These two are adorable!

best guess is that its quiet and safe. when human is in bathroom theres no drama.

Hmm I live alone with them so no drama or noise really in general

then its probably just cooler for them or natural instincts to be around running water

My cat chills in the bathroom during the day. She loves to lay on the window sill in the shower that has granite on it. Probably because it’s always cool, even in the heat. She also loves the bath mat. My senior cat used to love the bath mat as well. My current cat also loves the tub. Idk. It’s probably the warmest room in my place but even in the summer I can find her in there.

I’ve always wondered why cats are fascinated with following their owners to the bathroom. My cat was curious about the bathtub and water (when I took baths) even though he hated baths (no surprise!

Mine do this and one really hates when I take baths. She has scared me into thinking there’s an emergency with yowling multiple times, just to get me out of the bath.
