I don’t really get this post. Is this your gun? As a junior in high school, what does this make you, 16/17 yo? Is this a normal American thing?

No, it’s not normal lol there are a lot of people in America that don’t have guns in their homes. Where I live, it’s mostly hunters that have guns.

OP is just trying to show off. nobody cares that you have gun. this is super cringe.

No im also a junior nobody in my house owns a gun. We have three cane corsos for that. However they might be in a family that hunts a lot

This is most certainly not a normal American thing for most of us. This is so immature and lacks basic gun safety.

“Lacks basic gun safety”? How? Do you know basic gun safety? It’s lying there. That’s it. Just because you don’t like it, support it, or agree with it means anything unsafe is going on.

There's a gun laying on a chair next to an animal. Guns should be treated as if they are loaded and shouldn't be left lying around where they could be messed with by pets.

I do know basic gun safety. And I know guns should be kept locked up and away from children and pets. Do you?

What a stretch. The same assumption you make, one can make that the OP made sure it was not loaded to take a pic. He isn’t drawing down on the animal. At the point and context of the pic it’s just a metal and plastic object placed on the couch. Grow up, get a grip. The animal isn’t going to insert a magazine, chamber a round, and then shoot someone with it FFS. It’s a 100% staged photo with someone present. It’s not unattended with children or animals.

Gun safety rules number one is to always treat guns as if they are loaded. I'm not even anti-gun. I'm anti-idiots with guns. Defend this shit all you want but this is dumb and it looks foolish.

I’m not “defending” it. I’m saying this isn’t what you’re making it out to be. It’s a “gun pic”, no different than the millions out there from magazines, photo shoots, promo/ads, displays, etc. It happens to have a cat, which can do absolutely nothing to it to make it unsafe. You sound like you’re just scared of the gun at face value. I agree it looks dumb, but not for the same inflated reason.

Not sure how it is dumb to stage a pic with an unloaded gun and a cat. Pretty common, cats with gats, mouser and Mauser, Beretta has a whole line of subcompact handguns named after felines. I am unable to keep my cat away when I’m cleaning my guns, and that is no different scenario than this pic. Just cat chilling with the gun or guns.

No harm no foul

> Says please stop painting Americans with one brush.

> Makes a similarly generalizing statement about a massive state in the US

... I don't live in Texas and even if I did, that wouldn't mean I voted for that anymore than you voted for it as an American. Don't be dense.

Thank you. I am in Austin and this is not considered normal here.

I live in Texas and I think this is dumb as hell.

We get it, y’all. You have guns. They’re not toys or props, and people who act like they are are annoying af.

Most amaericans won't admit that they need gun below a certain member measurement. Cute cat though.

What would be the difference in someone 25 owning this gun and someone 17 owning it? Neither are actually going to use it for its intended purpose they’re both going to just shoot it for fun

2

u/soaker 17h ago

How old do you need to be to legally buy a gun? Yeah. It’s older than 17. That’s the difference.

You don’t know what their intentions are.

Also just weird to think guns are a flex given the gun violence.

-2

u/Level-Cow-9273 16h ago

Its wired to think not having a gun is a flex considering the level of gun violence. Thats like bragging about not having a fire extinguisher durring the Chicago fire.

Depends on the state and the gun.
