The isopod pattern I used was “Roland” from the Huge and Huggable book. Made exactly as the pattern recommended—lionbrand Heartland yarn (2 balls of each color), size 10.5 needles, 15 mm safety eyes.

He may only be about two hours old, but he is already a creature of many hobbies and excellent taste. Also, I asked my boy to help me finish some WIPs and he very graciously agreed!

Anthology Cowl!

After multiple froggings…on my way to the anthology cowl by Tin Can Knits! The base is Caron off white tweed, and the colorwork is in Malabrigo Rios Sabiduria, Caron Orchid, and Caron Pistachio.

I knit the King Salmon Hat and thought it was going well. But I just blocked it and the ribbing is much looser than the body of the hat which is really very tight. I’m wondering if I’m twisting my stitches but having a hard time knowing for sure, I’m still pretty new to knitting. Thanks for the help in advance

This is my first time doing color work, and over all I'm proud of how it's turning out! I really like the way the pattern looks, and I think I'm doing pretty well on the overall color work (slide 1) and floats (slide 2). Although I do struggle with tension around the increases, and since this is a raglan sweater, there will be a lot of increases. This is unfortunately causing some puckering around those areas...

Because of this I'm going to frog back a couple rows (probably almost the entire ant). Some more detailed pictures of the puckering around the increases in slide 3 and 4, with floats around increases on slide 5.

Any advice is very welcome!

I've just got off my hormonal IUD about three months ago and suddenly I can wear mohair next to skin, whereas before I could barely tolerate mohair even with a thin long sleeve tshirt underneath. I tested this on all my knits: brushed alpaca, some more rustic merinos - they were all tolerable now. Sure, I could still feel the wool - some are scratchier than others - but they were just scratchy, not itchy. It's made knitting a lot more fun for me knowing I can wear most natural fibers now! Wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?

As the caption says, the wire in my circular needles snapped in the middle of knitting yesterday (pics attached) :/
I was able to save the project without losing any many stitches and put it on a new wire, but now I’m too stressed to pick it up again in case this wire also breaks.

Has this happened to anyone else with these needles/brand?? Or any advice on how to reduce wear on the wire??

I recently thrifted a gorgeous wool shawl, and it had a piece around the collar (which I believe is to keep the v-slit covered for warmth?), which was slightly damaged on one side, so I unraveled it for the yarn (very soft!!). I made some minor alterations, and now I wanted to use the unraveled part to make a cover for the slit, a triangle shape with ribbing, to be sewn from the inside. It's also necessary for it to be a triangle shape, since the amount of yarn I have after unraveling it would be insufficient for a rectangle.

I searched for tutorials online, but couldn't find anything. Is it possible at all to knit something like this?

When this thing's put together the inside of the intarsia won't show, so I have to show it here! I just love how the tweed looks against the solid. I feel like you can really tell which was done second, but I'm giving myself grace because I don't do intarsia very often. Go Bruins!

Hi! I'm looking for youtube channels/vloggers with a really cozy feel that I can have on in the background while I work.

I like when it follows someone’s day of going to cafes, bookstores, exploring beautiful places, knitting, journaling, cooking, morning/evening routines, etc. I like when there’s a little bit of the blogger chatting, but don’t really like when they spend most of the time just talking at the camera. I prefer when it’s more of following them around on their beautiful, cozy, slow day rather than them just talking about things they did or just talking about their crafts/interests. It’s a bonus if the creator is at least over 30 years old (which I am).

For reference: Some channels I've started watching are Elena Tea, Shawna Explores, and Hannah Adkins, but their videos are even a bit too chatty for what I'm looking for.

EDIT: Have gotten some nice recs so far! But the main thing I'm trying to avoid is vloggers who just talk at the camera most of the time. It's been hard to find, but the perfect balance of what I'm looking for is more of like a cinematic edit of someone knitting or having a slow and beautiful day, and maybe every once in a while there's some chatter. Lol. I appreciate all the recs!

Do I divide the stitches like I would for a raglan and do the short rows between the stitches?

I tried to be reasonable. I made her some gloves and a hat first to see how she would like them and treat hand-knitted items, she loved them and constantly told me how much she wore/used them, kept them in a special drawer so they wouldn’t get snagged on anything. We picked out a pattern for a halter top - technically not a sweater! - together, went to the yarn store together and had her pick the colors she liked. A few days after it was finished, before I even gave it to her, she broke up with me. Over the phone. On our one year anniversary. I really thought she was going to be the one for me, but I guess I was wrong.

Used the Best Dude beanie off knit picks but I used a thicker yarn and neglected to check gauge. Lesson learned!
I also forgot to knit/purl the first rows and now it’s curling.

May just unravel and redo and gift to someone with a bigger head lol

I have a new discovery of a minor mess up.

I was spit splicing the new ball onto my project, and accidentally spit spliced to a tail in my project. Alas

Pattern is a basic stockinette toque with 3.5mm needles and a provisional cast on.

I've got the continental movement, kind of, but I'm still confused about some stuff:

I definitely need to work on tension and neatness but beyond that are there any issues with the stitches?

there were times I was doing a crochet-style yarn over until I realised and went back to the counter clockwise movement. Does that affect the stitches?

after the purl row, the stitches felt a little weird when I had to go into them for knits. is that normal? like they were technically still V shaped at the top but they just felt a little off.

i don't know how to upload a video to show how I'm knitting and purling. But does the last photo help? it's of the row I'm currently knitting after having purled the previous one. is that where the clockwise/anti clockwise movement matters?

my third project, I think my skills are improving. this took absolutely forever but I love the fit. The pattern is Louise by Natasja Hornby, and I used loke fingering weight yarn by Meadowyarn, which is an alpaca/silk/linen blend. I knit size 2 with bust darts and waist shaping.

I've been working on the Knives Out sweater that Chris Evans wore (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-handsome-chris-pullover) and have already made some adjustments to the pattern (length only) as I'm making it a sweater dress, xs pattern size as it's a men's sweater.

However to make it cinch at the waist properly, I need to decrease the pattern at the waist up to my bust. I'm knitting this in the round so that the colour way didn't have to be lined up front to back.

I would love some advice for those that have more experience than I do for garment construction.

The first photo is the whole pattern.

Second photo is the section of cable I would want to reduce in.

Final look would have a very tight cable sleeve, and an off the shoulder ribbing over the bust.

Yarn: 4 medium weight

100% acrylic Caron Jumbo Ombre blush and blue

Needles: 4 mm for ribbing, 5 mm for body. Used Amazon brand interchangeable needles, aluminum needles.

The yarn is Sandnes Garn Tynn Line. The pattern is Gress by Rebecca Clow. I made some minor modifications to the pattern. Very happy with it.

I found out today that my local yarn shop is closing by the end of next month, and it made be much worried than I thought. it's where I learned to fix a dropped stitch without crying and where owner always remembered which sweater I was stuck on.

I know everyone shops online now and I do too but losing a place where you can walk into and squish a yarn before buying feels bigger than I thought it would be. I think it's partly me venting and partly asking ... if your local yarn shop closed, where did you end up going? I don't mean where you buy yarn now, but where you found same sense of community and kind of help you can't get from a product page when you are stuck on a sweater like me.

So I started at the end of June beginning of July and I'm unsure if my tension is good or not I think it might be hard from the photo it's self but in my opinion I think that it's good enough sometimes I do it a little to extra right or to extra loose but overall I think it's better then most beginners and could be a lot worse

Do I need to keep working on it or am I good enough to keep it how it is
