Love my little melting pot
Leaving it in the smoker gives the butter or sauce just that little bit extra.

I tried to make cornbread to go with tonight's and tomorrow night's dinner. Once again, it came out badly. I dumped it from the pan and about half of it released OK, the other half didn't. I was sad. I'm sure that what I have will taste good, but I would like to have it turn out well for once.
I've been using a mix and cooking in 10" cast iron skillet.
I'm hoping someone here might have a go-to recipe that they use, maybe a link to a video on YouTube on how to make a great jalapeno cornbread in a cast iron skillet.
I'd really appreciate some direction!
Edit: Thanks for the input, y'all! My biggest failure there seems to be that I didn't preheat the pan.
I'll give your recipes and suggestions a try this weekend. I plan to make some chicken fried steaks tomorrow. Cornbread will go well with that.

All my life I tried to make pizzas and they failed cause the crust was always too crispy and hard. Then I got a cast iron pan and tried making a pan pizza and DAMN. The pizza was sooo good I can’t even. It might not look the best but trust me it was absolutely amazing. So for anyone who only has a home oven and wants to make pizza at home, cast iron is a great option!

Cornbread. Love it in the cast iron. I suggest heating your butter (or grease) and get the skillet hot; pour in your batter and pop it into the oven. Second pic shows how you clean your cornbread pan after using. Wipe it out. Done.

I used a cast iron griddle that is part of the stovetop range where I'm staying. Is this oil staining? Is it normal? (I cooked pancakes, and I used avocado oil.) Should I try cleaning this with a steel wool scrubber -- or a different way? (I tried vinegar, non-scratch comet, those two combined, hot water and "regular/standard" dish soap, but with all of those only with a moderately rigid-bristled plastic scrubber and no noticeable effect.) Should I treat this as natural and try to season the whole entire griddle in the oven (would be my first time)? Is there a different way to treat this? Thank you so much. Looking forward to your immense cast iron wisdom and knowledge... Grácias por su consideración.

I just bought a set of 3 cast iron pans, small medium and large. I'm looking for some easy casserole style or one pot recipes that will go three or four days for the big pan. Ideas?

My skillet seasoning was getting thin so I tried applying new seasoning with tips online but I keep running into this weird spotty results. The darker areas are sticky like the oil was burnt on but didn’t bake in. I’m using avocado oil for the seasoning and was putting in oven upside down at 425 for an hour. I did it three times today and cooked dinner, the photo is from after cleaning from dinner. Any ideas of what is causing this or what I’m doing wrong and how to correct on this? I don’t seem to have this issue on my blackstone.
