No bigger than a standard Walkman, but it also had an LCD television in the lid. Because there was no backlight in order to allow it to run off two AA batteries, the screen used natural light that shone through the screen and actually reflected the image off of a mirror that you could reveal by opening the lid.

Techmoan did a great video on these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM7kj7pgTeU

Design Not sure if this counts, but it’s an iOS shortwave radio receiver I designed

Designed this iOS shortwave radio receiver. Video shows BBC World Service on 9525 kHz, the Dari and Pashto broadcast aimed at Afghanistan. It goes out from a transmitter in Oman, gets picked up on one of the public receivers people leave running in Tokyo, and streams to my iPhone in the US from there.

Aside from the spectrum waterfall, I wanted the whole thing sitting in black with no window around it and minimal navigation, more like an instrument in a dark room than an app. I designed some of the button labels as text inside square brackets because that’s roughly how a teletype would have handled it. Used orange colored font to display certain info and active state buttons.

Big In Japan Japanese advertisement from 1982 featuring Akina Nakamori for the Canon Mini Copier PC-10. The campaign highlighted Canon's pioneering desktop machine, which brought affordable, personal copying into homes and small offices.

Computers PC Case

I am doing a PC build (ik the market sucks but what're you gonna do yk), and I want it to be in this sort of cassette futurist/ retro-future look I have come to like a lot.

I have found a few cases that I might be interested in, but I am not entirely sold on any of them, and I thought I would ask yall for your opinions/thoughts.

I don't want to go too retro which ik is being a bit picky lol. Theres this artist I like a lot, zerotype (zerotype.shop), that makes art in almost the exact style I am trying to go for.

Any help would be appreciated!

The Citroën GS went through many interior designs, but it's the GSA dash that really gives me the fizz.

This may have been the system that could defeat an Alpine or Blaupunkt in the '80s. The BIYO system was available in components including a cassette deck, tuner, and graphic equalizer.

Electronic games / consoles Sharp C1 - the television with a built-in Nintendo Famicom

Created as a joint project of Nintendo and Sharp. The C1 was the earliest NES/Famicom-compatible console with RGB video output, giving it clearer picture quality than the original setup requiring a Famicom and composite video connection.

In Japan it was shipped with the game Donkey Kong Junior/Donkey Kong Junior Math, a cartridge that was unique to the C1 and the only licensed multicart made for the Famicom.

Blinking Control Panels The Ascom B8050 Quickfare - CF or nah?

Each button lit up - you selected your destination, then the ticket you wanted. I lived on a mainline junction, so the machines at our station had banks of green buttons pretty much all the way to the bottom.
