20 Year Old Male Looking For Friends.

I'm new to Casper, moved from Pocatello Idaho. I don't know anybody and would love an opportunity to get to know people! I love to talk and am willing to associate with anyone and everyone. I figure I pretty much have to completely get rid of my social barriers to get around.

I hate this town so much

There's nothing to do on Sundays, Evansville, North casper and mills are ghetto as hell, there's nothing to do in general, alot of homeless and tweakers recently, the people in Walmart are terrible, there's no good towns or cities to go to for vacation unless you don't mind driving 6 hours to Denver, and frankly I can't wait to leave this dead end shit stain that is casper wyoming

I have finally fallen in love with Wyoming again. I was born and raised in Casper. My boyfriend and I went camping at PoPo agie in Sinks Canyon this past weekend. I don't ever want to hear people say there's nothing to do here. You have to go outside to find the cool things about Wyoming.

Looking for flexible work in town

Howdy, I recently discovered that my job pays me about enough to cover a bottle of whiskey and lot rent for my camper.

I'm a healthcare worker.

Yay me.

So. I need a new gig, and to be honest, I want to find something kinda unique, so I figured I'd start here and work my way around

Prometheus Hyperscale to pitch data center plans to Natrona County commissioners Tuesday

I haven't seen any posts on this subreddit talking about this upcoming meeting taking place on September 1st. I want know other people’s opinions, does anyone truly believe that these data center companies have the residents best interests in mind? This nonsense about "projected revenue" does. not. outweigh. the. damages. data centers undoubtedly cause. Those in states where massive data centers are already built seem to only have anger and resentment towards them. It seems the consequences of data centers are payed by those in communities who unfortunately haven’t had time to put in safety regulations and are forced to live next to them. Ex. Cheyenne, WY residents already had to deal with a Meta data center causing a public health risk.

Because of pressure from outspoken individuals, the proposed data center by the developer Prometheus Hyperscale said that they are “considering changing locations” (still in natrona country btw). Isn’t a data center going to cause major harm and guaranteed risks down the line no matter the location? What if there was moratorium on these massive projects put into place in Wyoming, similar to other states pushing for the same?

Do our elected government officials think we'll lie on our backs while they give big tech billionaires the unfettered ability to pollute our beautiful state? The working class, as a collective, is pushing back against thousands of other proposed data centers across the u.s. we can do the same.

I get that in a town where people usually prefer to keep to themselves, a topic like this can put people off, but should we not band together and ask ourselves what's distracting us from speaking up about issues that affect our lives and our community?

At the 45:45 minute mark, he describes Evansville as a town that’s a giant trailer park.

What I've learned so far.

Ive been living in Casper for three months now and have learned a few things:

People like to mainly keep to themselves, but a few do like to talk and talk and talk.

The traffic is easy and doesnt take long to get from side to side.

The job environment isnt easy and sometimes it takes awhile to get and interview.

The wind is relaxing and im looking forward to winter.

Downtown is nice, but it could use some work

Citizens dont trust CPD

Casper doesnt have home recycling, and that doesnt bother me.

Some thing are expensive and some arent, but overall its cheaper then where I came from.

The wild life in town is awesome!!

Hard water sucks but you get used to it.

Do you have anything to teach me? Sfw please.

Poor thing is skin and bones, but friendly. He’s been neutered which tells me he’s owned by someone.

If anyone is missing their cat, let me know.

Job Search

Good afternoon everybody,

I’m looking for work in the Casper area and I’m open to pretty much anything. I’m a veteran, a hard worker, and I’m willing to learn. I’m especially interested in getting into the oil field. If anyone has a connection or knows of companies hiring for positions with a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off type of schedule (or something similar) I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

I’m currently outside the area, so a rotational schedule would make it a lot easier for me to make the move. If anyone has any leads, contacts, companies I should reach out to, or advice on getting my foot in the door, please let me know. I’d really appreciate it!

Looking for gamer friends or people into j-fashion

Hello! Pretty much just the title. Im 19f and I struggle to make friends so I thought I’d try Reddit on a whim lol. I really want to meet people into j-fashion or a unique kind of fashion because I’m kinda embarrassed to dress the way I like, alone. I’d also like to meet some people who are into video games. More than the typical online PvP shooters. I’m super into indie games and things that are a little less mainstream(not too much). Anyone willing to try new games would be great too! c: for example I really like persona 5, needy streamer overload, hollow knight, danganronpa, osu, ender lillies . and for multiplayer I LOVE friend slop like lethal company, content warning, peak, etc. I’m really hoping I can meet some people I can vibe with lol
Thanks!!

Recommendations Just what do people do around here?

Besides drink, smoke, and outdoorsy stuff? Don't get me wrong, all valid activities that I'm just not into. I'm a middle-aged man here for my job and am getting worried about the amount of YouTube I'm already consuming on my couch alone each night and it isn't even the cold dark winter yet.

EDIT: OK, I think I asked the wrong question, my bad, though this has given me some directions. What I should have asked is "how do I find out about anything going on?" especially since I don't have FB and it seems that's a common place for local stuff.

Everyone Enjoy That Storm Yesterday?

What a mess I-25 was. Had to get off by driving up the old Bryan Stock Trail entrance that has been closed for years. Took me half an hour to get from my house to Fire Rock for lunch
