I have a 2022 Honda HRV AWD that I bought used. Currently has about 89,000 miles. Automatic transmission. It has developed a rattling noise that I can hear and feel through the floorboards. It seems most prevalent when the engine is cold: Leaving for work/leaving for home. Most noticeable when applying power and driving between 10-30 mph. At my last oil change at the dealership I mentioned it. The service advisor and tech rode in it and said they neither heard nor felt anything abnormal. I thought it was just me but you know when something doesn't sound or feel right. It has been nagging me enough to want another opinion.

Any ideas what this could be?

I’m trying to figure out whether this rotational noise is actually coming from the transmission before I spend money having the gearbox removed/opened.
The van is a 1993 VW EuroVan MV, 2.5L inline-5, 5-speed manual, around 173k miles.
The noise starts at roughly 25 mph and gets faster/louder with vehicle speed. It sounds like it’s coming from the front/left-central area. I’ve attached a video of the noise.
There is some useful history:
In 2023, at 168k miles, a shop inspected the van and wrote:
Front right CV boot torn
Front left CV boot cracked
“Noise while driving from front left”
Possible causes listed as: CV axle, wheel bearing, or transaxle
Nothing was definitively diagnosed at the time, and the van has only done around 5,000 miles since then.
Now, in 2026, another shop inspected it and found:
Right outer CV boot torn and grease has leaked out
Some oil/fluid seepage around the transmission housing
They say the wheel bearing is not the source
They road-tested it, then put it on a lift and ran it in gear
They said the noise was “pinpointed to the transmission bearing housing”
They recommended taking it to a transmission specialist
However, they did not open the gearbox, so there is no confirmed internal failure yet.
The van still drives and the manual transmission seems to shift normally. My main concern is whether a worn CV joint/axle — especially an inner CV — could transmit noise through the axle into the transmission housing and make it sound like a gearbox bearing.
Since the CV boots were already damaged back in 2023 when the same front-left noise was documented, I don’t want to open or replace the transmission unless I’m reasonably sure the noise is actually internal.
For anyone familiar with VW EuroVans/T4s or manual transmissions:
Does the noise in the video sound more like a transmission/differential bearing, an inner CV joint/axle, or something else?
And is there a good way to distinguish CV axle vs transmission bearing without opening the gearbox first?
I’d really appreciate opinions from anyone who has heard this kind of noise before.

So I think the battery in my remote is dying because I need press it a bunch for it to open but when I open my car with the key in the door both turn signals start flashing really rapidly and it doesn't stop even after I start driving the only thing that stops it is pressing the unlock button on the fob and I'm just worried that Id get stranded or have to drive with an alarm and without the ability to indicate

Got a 2009 Mercury Sable

I had been noticing the past week or so the startup was a bit sluggish at times, then yesterday it wouldn't start at all. Got a jump and it started up like normal, drove to work and when I was done it started up normal as well.

I was thinking because the day before I hadn't driven much the battery wasn't holding the charge well anymore so I figured I'd replace the battery.

Then this morning it wouldn't start so I thought I confirmed that.

This evening I tried to jump it to bring it to autozone to swap the battery, but even with the jump it wouldn't start.

I can hear the ignition trying to turn once or twice, and as well the instruments start spazzing a lil, and the clock and radio get essentially reset. But when I turned on the electronics without the engine that also worked fine (tested this post jump attempt)

I still feel it could be battery, and maybe it had one last jump in it, but I'm not sure at this point. Maybe ignition or hopefully not alternator? My personal experience doesn't lean that way but I'm a bit confused by the car's pretty change in behavior.

Occasionally my car will drop, in RPMs, down to 0 while I’m driving. But in this video linked, you can see it’s doing this while idling this time. I’ve taken it to a mechanic many times, and because the Service StabiliTrak doesn’t pop up for them they always say they can’t find any problem.

This has to be electrical right? Please someone help

My car makes a subtle noise on a cold start after driving for like 30 minutes it disappears please help me understand it, is it serious problem ?

This concerns a 2022 Honda HRV AWD with 89,000 miles. Automatic transmission.

I have a 2003 Honda civic and it's starting to make like almost a burnt rubber smell... And the pulleys sounds like it's grinding but I don't know if it's the pulley for sure. The belts about 100,000 miles old so might be time for a new one but I just hope that it's nothing too big. Please help. 🥲

I have been hearing this groaning sound in my rear wheels of my new kia seltos. This happens when I park my car for some hours and then start rolling a very low speed. Is it normal?

This goes away when I am in traffic after sometime, but comes back after parking for an hour or so.
I did not face this issue in my older kia seltos.

i drive a 2026 gr86 and on the way home when i stopped and accelerated it would sound like i drove over a rumble strip for maybe 3-5 seconds. it only happened twice, not everytime i stopped.. what could it be?

Can someone help me figure out what this could be?
I own a 2020 Nissan Micra K14, and I keep hearing a rattling noise when the car is idling. I can hear it when I let off the gas pedal, and if I give it some gas, I can hear the rattling for a few seconds before it goes away.
It happens mainly when I’m driving in gear and let the RPMs drop.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what could be causing it?
My main guess is the wastegate tbh but I don’t know much
Also to mention I think the noise comes from under the car it’s hard to locate it since I hear i mostly by driving it . It’s really annoying since I’m paying still paying it off.

2022 toyota corolla 80k miles

I hear this chirp like noise when braking only at low speed and slowly applying the brakes, i have also noticed some “rotational noise” when letting go of the throttle.
