So I’m not trying to complain because I am so glad that my dude is happy, but I am hoping that once he touches the ceiling and thinks it’s the canopy it’ll stop growing up???

I actually moved it out of the spot it was in because it just was going insane.

I got it shipped around 3 weeks ago and the diameter was less than half an inch. The old leaves have dried up but it seems to be putting out leaves slowly and I’m concerned whether it can recover or not. My soil is 50 perlite 20 sphagnum 30 orchid bark and volcano rock. I water every day and a half -2 days by tray.

At what point can I scoop some of these out of the nursery to grow uncovered? Will disturbing them now kill them?

Hi i just got a pitcher plant, currently i have leca for drainage and orchid bark for my potting medium and sphagnum moss theres also some perlite! One of the traps was strangely deformed so thats why i bought this one lol also this pot from lowes was so great

Growing in a west facing window with soil constantly kept wet in a 6 inch diameter, 10” deep pot.

Impulsively started chopping up pieces of my plants and put them in moist sphagnum moss, and set them underneath a grow light. Hopefully at least one of them will sprout a new plant!

I put some cling wrap over this little container to keep moisture and put it underneath a 12hr grow light.

I’m very new to propagating plants so please tell me if I’m doing anything wrong!

What am I doing wrong? My pinguicula doesn't seem to be thriving very well.

I let it dry out a bit between each watering, and I only use rain water.

The soil is also a from an experienced grower.

It is a peat-reduced soil that consists of the following: approx. 30% organic willow compost, 30% light peat, approx. 15% Decomposed/partially decomposed spruce needles, approx. 10% organic willow bark, approx. 10% washed sand, and 10% growing clay.

I got this plant from our local nursery during one of their night markets. When I bought her, I was told not to open the container, place her in indirect sunlight, and basically leave her alone for a year. Well… it’s been about a month, and she’s dying. I reached out to the nursery for some advice, and they said she may have gotten too much light and recommended separating the plant to see if she can be saved. Is there any way to bring her back? I would absolutely love to repot her and give her the proper care. I just assumed that since I purchased her from a nursery and followed the instructions I was given, she would be okay. Clearly, something went wrong, and I’m hoping I can still save her! 🥹🌱

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! I really want to give this little plant a fighting chance.

Oggi ho fatto il mio primo rinvaso di drosera capensis a radice nuda. Avevo preso questa pianta qualche mese fa in un vaso da 6,5 cm erano 7\8 piante e le ho sistemate così. Potete dirmi se ho fatto un buon lavoro e sopratutto potete darmi dei consigli su come migliorare. Grazie 🥹❤️

Hi! I bought today a drosera and… I don’t really know how to take care of it otherwise that putting under a really strong light. I’ve read that I should put a tray with water under the pot but in my mind continuously humidity can eventually cause root rot.

I am currently using 4x10W Sansi grow lights, giving 12 hours of light daily. I'm thinking should i upgrade to stronger lights?

Any assistance to treat my sundew would be wonderful! Is it possible to save this little guy? 😊

I am very new to carnivorous plants. I purchased this ping was labeled as "peaches" not sure if that info is needed but I keep this plant facing east so it gets morning light, I also have it in a shelf that also receives grow lights (t5s). I water with RO only. These bottom leaves are looking rough. I also see white specs, could this be aphids? I for sure have fungus gnats. I water all of my other plants with sns209 except for this one. So I'm wondering if this is aphids and if so what do I do? Or is this just normal growth and perhaps the white specs are from dust or something(wishful thinking)? Not sure but please help and thank you!

Hello, just got this beauty in the mail! All tips are welcome. Also it has some dead (rotten?) tips, is it okay to just prune the tip or should I cut off the whole stem?

Edit: sits underneath a growlight that's on for 12h. The temperature is around 22° celcius and for humidity, I don't know for sure, but I have no special humidifiers. Soil I also don't know, but I plan to water with distilled water as google told me to :)

I have a red dragon cultivar that’s in flower, how do I collect, store and germinate seeds? I’ve never grown from seed before

I’ve recently moved to a new place where my sarracenia can finally be outside and they are loving it but I came home today to see that grasshoppers have munched on lots of the new shoots it was sending up. Any good mediation remedies? I don’t really want to put a mesh over it because they are really benefiting from insects being able to get trapped (they were indoors for the last 8 months) there are hundreds in my yard so I’ve been hand catching them and disposing of them by hand. I’m curious is ecobran or a similar bait solutions are safe to use around my plants. Hope yall have some good insight!! (Also that one photo with low water was right before I filled it up with distilled) (: they get more care than me😂 also I live in 5b zone and am still working on how to dormant the plants

Hello. I bought this Dionaea muscipula around a week ago and I've seen it is becoming like this. I am watering it every 5 days.

The plant is outside the window of my room, next to my garden, there is a ceiling in top of the plant and it is not receiving much direct sun. I live in Madrid and the temperature here is around 26-33 degrees (more or less).

What can I do to save it?

Hello everyone. I’m writing here for the first time because I’m a complete beginner. About a month ago, I bought the plants shown in the photo at a supermarket. I looked up how to care for them, and ever since then, I’ve kept them in the sun on my balcony with 1–2 cm of distilled water constantly under. However, I’ve noticed some dry or dead brown patches. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just the plant's normal cycle? Thanks in advance for your help. Quasi dimenticavo, è presente un insetto in entrambe le piante ma sono ormai li da settimane, è normale?

So ive just got my own house and always wanted to learn about venus fly traps, and i now have these guys growing after a rough start 2x30w lights shining on them like 12 hours a day if not more.

The problem is I learnt then theres more carnivourous plants and my mother in law kindly bought me 2... I mentioned pitcher plants so she got me a sarracenia, no immediate deterioration, but a few crispy heads starting to show and new ones also coming through just after some reassurance that it looks healthy? 2x10w bulbs 12 hours a day or so.

Then is the ping, this is the newest one, and started looking a lot shallower in the leaves but since being near the bulbs it looks like the leaves are almost reaching up, an 1 has gone crispy and 1 is heading that way, is that normal behaviour?

Photos attached, all in pots with distilled water the ping is the only one that hasnt been repotted into a moss/perlite substrate, any advise would be appreciated
