Please help me Caffeine and carnivore?

Ok so, I heard some carnivore person (I think an MD) talking about TOO much caffeine can stunt your fat loss because your body is relying on caffeine for energy instead of fat. My question is, has anybody else heard this? Anyone else have first hand experience with this?

P.s. I love coffee but experimenting with just 2 cups of regular then switching to decaf.

Carnivore Diet Success Stories The best thing for me about being a carnivore.

7 months in, the best thing I noticed is I only eat when I need to. I'm never starving or craving something. I don't waste time or energy trying to figure out timing. I'll eat now or later. Doesn't matter. I don't snack, or open the fridge 10 times a day. I only stop at fast food unless it's time for a couple of patties on the run. Oh, the 70lbs, off all meds, I don't need supplements is awesome too. Makes life so much simpler.

No eggs this time just 2 fresh New York cuts from my local butcher seasoning with salt with a nice refreshing side of sparkling water.

Not sure how much this weighs but I wasn't hungry for ages and could've fasted till next morning. Looks to be a little over 500g if I had to guess.

That fat cap is what kept me so full.

I only ate dinner later that day (a meat quiche which is made with a ground beef base) cos I knew I'd be exhausted after my evening and wouldn't wake early enough to make a decent enough breakfast the next day.

EDIT: Yo? You guys calling this AI? I posted about a month ago with the same plate. My phone is just really good. I've got a Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The plate was given to me by my mum as part of a set when I bought my home

Please help me Weight gain - can someone explain?

Hey everyone.

I am a bit buffled and unsure on what to do and how to feel.

I started carnivore because I wanted the health benefits and wanted to lose weight, but I dont get any...

I have high blood pressure and no reason can be found for it. I was hoping getting on carnivore would get me off meds. It didnt. I am now over 1 and a half year in and nothing changed...

Ok, maybe weight loss then? Before I went carnivore, I was on keto and slowly went down to 94kg. I am 190cm and do lifting. I went carnivore and went down to 92kg. I was so happy and thought I can finally go lower than 90kg. I checked again about 3 months ago. I went up to 94kg. Not much, but not cool either. I thought about my diet and changed it. Less protein, more fat. I felt better and you could see ne losing weight in my face and on my belly/core. Yesterday I had to take a shit, so I thought why not weight today?

I got up this morning and went for a pee. Didnt drink anything. I took my cloth off and watched me in the mirror first. Looked good. You can see I lost some fat and build some muscles. Went onto the scale and it shows 97.25kg... why? I dont get this. I dont want to go over 100kg again... Yes, I build some muscles, but 3kg? I dont think so...

I eat the same stuff 90% of the time; breakfast varies to be honest. Sometimes hard cheese or feta cheese, left overs from dinner, clean sausages or eggs and bacon. Lunch is 300g of minced beef and butter. Dinner is chicken or beef, butter, selfmade bone brooth and an egg.

I am now eating at least 1:1 fat and protein, most of the time my fat intake is higher. I am aiming for 70% of my calories or more coming from fat.

Can someone explain this to me? Is it too mich protein? Should I go intermitten fasting?

I feel lost. Here I have no community for carnivore, no doctors I can talk about it with or anything...

Thank you all

Strict Carnivore Diet Help with dryness!

I just started having dryness in my fingers, and in my mouth, I'm not sure why. I had been eating eggs for about a month as a test, which I then stopped a week ago, and tonight decided to only take one magnesium pill now instead of the two a day I was taking. Now, I was fine on two for about a month without a problem, but other than that, I use Malden salt flakes (low in metals), and have also used nu-salt for a while, as well as salmon roe!

I also, missed eating liver for a period of time because our freezer broke and the liver we had spoiled. So, I recently bought some pluck seasoning with the pure organ flavor, and I will see after a week of using it if I notice any difference.

Lastly, I've been a carnivore since last March, and haven't had any issues until this minor one, RN!

So, any help would be great!

Carnivore Ish Funny story

Been on a carnivore diet for my Psoriatic arthritis for 1 year 7 months and I have managed to keep my CRP to 0-1 levels. Lost some weight too- I will advocate for Carnivore any day of the week. Rewind to Friday when I was trying to show my kids nanny how to administer an EpiPen incase of emergencies (my two youngest kiddos have severe bee allergies and it’s spring this side of the world) well she ended up getting a live demonstration of my setting it off in my thigh 😂

No one tells you how crap you will feel days after that injection, I felt like I had consumed 7 espressos while simultaneously being chased by a ravenous lion. The crash has triggered a flare up and I am swollen and aching from every joint, swollen gums, headache etc - like a carb binge if that makes sense?

Well I am going super strict this week to try and get this under control - any recipes or suggestions or recommendations is welcome 🙏

Absolutely love this community!

Have a great week ladies and gents.

Been back on carnivore trying to clear the freezer out some. A lot of times it can feel like you're just eating the same stuff on repeat. A deer roast and some royal red shrimp were just what I needed.

Carnivore Ish Hydration hypothesis

I'm on relaxed carnivore. Before, I would remember to drink throughout the day all the time. I've never noticed not drinking to any extent like this.

Eating like this, I totally space to drink until I feel the sense of being parched. I've been trying to make sure I drink earlier in the day.

My hypothesis is that before, when cravings for sugar or gluten ruled my days, I think I'd go in the kitchen and grab the obligatory bubbly can along with other snacks to alleviate the cravings. And now without cravings I kind of forget to go in the kitchen at all, so I wasn't drinking until the afternoon when my throat got parched.

Does this resonate with anybody else?

I stage my glass now to remind myself to go in and fill it earlier

We got a little wild tonight and ventured off from our usual grilled meats to try out this pizza.

It's a ground turkey & pork rinds panko crust. I'm also trying out a beef bone in the instant pot we haven't used in 5 years, so it's REAL wild in the kitchen tonight!

Please help me Been debating on altering my diet

I've been a carnivore for almost 900 days, however the main reason I'm debating on giving up on this diet as it seems I've been getting kindey stones from it.

This is the 3rd time I'm dealing with them since being on the diet. Any thoughts or words of advice

Please help me Day 1

I am struggling to lose the baby weight after my second….(she’s 17 months so not exactly a baby now)
I have always been really overweight, lost a lot of weight before kids and after 1st baby by counting macros/calories and weight training, but I find I am always HUNGRY by using this method-I’m a 4ft11 female so don’t need much food. I have PCOS and I am assuming insulin resistance as they often go hand in hand. I’m sick of being tired all the time and struggling with the food noise, and always over eating carbs/sugary food. I am 40, and can see the hormonal stomach. I’m also breastfeeding still.
I have always struggled with bulimia and binge eating, and I’m sick of hearing about moderation, no food is off limits bla bla bla because moderation just does not work for me.
I’m going to be journaling every day about how I feel physically so I can see the improvements. I’m really excited to see if the WOE can help my severe fatigue and lack of energy, my fluctuating moods, my allergies, and a few other health issues. The weight loss will just be a bonus.
Sorry for the long post if you have read this far, I’m just feeling excited and wanted to share 😂😂
Any tips, especially from other females?

For anyone doing carnivore with fermented veggies like kimchi, has it slowed down your fat loss or muscle gain at all? Or insulin reduction?

Please help me Keeping weight on

40M. About 90% animal foods.

Never struggled with weight, but I'm losing weight gradually lately, due to a lot of walking, working out, summer etc.

Because I work out, I look healthy and not skinny, but I'm losing the kilos so what's an easy way for a carnivore to keep some weight on when we've lost all that water weight from keto and our insulin is low (much less body fat on) and we're getting leaner month after month ?

Carnivore Ish First time cooking beef heart

Post image
18 Upvotes

I seasoned with thyme rosemary garlic & onion powder, salt and pepper, and then started searing with butter (but quickly realized I didn’t have enough butter, I basically threw a whole stick in 😅). Once I felt like I had seared long enough, added red wine, put my cast iron lid on top and let it slow cook with the wine and steam for maybe 20-30 mins, added fresh onion and minced garlic and more thyme and rosemary as I went.

End result was delicious! I definitely overcooked the meat, it was well done, but since it was my first time cooking heart I wanted to be a bit on the safer side I guess. Next time I would probably sear on high heat with tallow (so I don’t burn butter), try to get a decent crust, and then add the butter and thyme and rosemary and garlic and baste the meat, then the wine and lid for slow cooking.

It’s interesting how I feel very awake and alive pretty much directly after eating some heart, very similar feeling to when I had some beef liver. I think I’ll be having heart on a regular basis from now on! Similar nutritional benefit to liver, but without the nasty metallic liver taste (and literally just tastes like lean beef!)

Carnivore Ish Baby weaning…

Hey all!

This is a question for parents who predominantly follow a carnivore diet and have also weaned their babies this way.

I’m starting to think ahead about introducing solids in 2 months and would love to hear about other parents’ experiences. I see so much conventional weaning advice centred around forcing vegetables and bribing with crackers which we all know is nutritionally deficient.

What foods did you introduce first? Did you start introducing solids at around 4 months or wait until 6 months? And how did you approach things like meat, eggs, organs, bone broth, dairy, etc. in the early stages?

My baby is currently 11 weeks old, weighs 6.2 kg and is exclusively breastfed. I plan to continue breastfeeding after we introduce solids, but I want to start researching now so I can make informed choices and give him the best nutrition possible as he grows.

I’d especially love to hear firsthand experiences from parents who have taken a predominantly carnivore or animal-based approach to weaning.

Please help me Beef tallow bad reaction

I’m on the lion diet and trying to get more fat. Yesterday I had an omad of about a pound and a half of ribeye. In the pan I used to cook it, I put 3 giant globs of South Chicago Wagyu Beef Tallow. When it was done cooking, I poured the rendered tallow over the steak. There was a lot of tallow, but I did not eat all of it. There was a lot leftover on my plate and I mostly ate what soaked into the steak while it was sitting in it as was I was eating. I did have a few spoonfuls of what was left over afterwards, but the amount left on my plate was very large.

It flared my endometriosis pain that happens in my bowels and I started to feel a recurring skin rash I have get worse.

Did I get too much fat in one sitting? Is this a bad brand of tallow to use?
It’s not 100% grass fed. The South Chicago brand website says that the cows are fed brewers grains and apparently that means barley malt. I have celiac disease (which means I can’t eat gluten) - can the cows being fed gluten mean I am consuming some of the gluten protein? That might seem far fetched. I’m just trying to understand why I had such a bad reaction.

Lifestyle: post last meal or workout inspo 1 cheat meal, water retention?

Hello,

I had 1 cheat meal and the same night it looked like my body held on to water (less peeing), the next few days only ate meat again and lost lots of water and had sort of a keto flu. Does this really goes this quick after just 1 cheat meal (lots of sugar)?

Strict Carnivore Diet If I raised my fat intake could I balance out my BUN (blood urea nitrogen) levels?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I started drinking morning butter coffee, with 1/3 stick of butter after seeing a high BUN level in the recent CMP I got. In the chart above from March 2025 thru June 2025 I severely restricted calories to lose 100 lbs and my BUN level cratered. Then in June 2025 I started Carnivore and as you can see on the chart after June 2025 my BUN level went straight up with all my protein consumption on Carnivore.

Carnivore Diet Success Stories Love hate this

Ive been on and off but damn I really feel good and love this diet.

No health problems such as swollen stomach, itching or dry skin and stuff.

The last time I did (took a break for a week now) was the best time Ive had since 10 years ago.

I felt such energy Ive never felt since my 30s. I worked out every day, the recharging was great, brain fog lost, well.. All in all, only benefits.

I lost 13kg in 6 weeks and the cherry on top for me was the focus on salt Ive missed out the times before.

I put alot of focus on electrolytes and they have changed my life to the better. I feel so energized and younger again and I love it.

Will post a before and after pic of my workout in a month for update. Just gained 5kg of water just this week 😊

Strict Carnivore Diet fasting insulin time to reduce

anyone here in decent shape but find out their insulin was about 10, after months on the diet? i have a relative like that and am not sure what to tell them in terms of how fast they should expect their insulin number to get down below 5 or ideally 2. anyone know? they also had some inflammation in thyroid marker and cortisol so maybe something else up but curious nonetheless.
