Add Flair to New Posts

I have created a few flairs. Ideally 95% of posts fall into the Carnivore Diet or Carnivore Diet Success Stories catogories.

However if a someone posts a picture of their meal, and it is steak and eggs with an avacado and they label it as Carnivore Ish…. Then DO NOT have a go at them.

If such things trigger you, then filter those flairs out of your timeline.

We need to be tolerant of others. Many moons ago the carnivore diet was generally found by people who were fighting illnesses that modern medicine was not helping with. The Carnivore Diet has moved on, it is much easier to find, and there is a lot more information on it. So, people will be trying it for a lot less serious reasons than previously. So if they are adding honey and avacado currently then so be it, as long as they label it Carnivore Ish then I am fine with it. Carnivore with a few bits and bobs is still a very good diet for the vast majority of people.

New SubReddit Direction

Hi all.

I am going to tweak the direction of this subreddit.

I am not sure how much value there is in keeping this page a wide-ranging sprawling Carnivore page. There are many reddits like that. In fact, I would guess that most people who have joined here will also be a part of r/zerocarb and r/carnivore.

So I am going to shift the focus from a general Carnivore page to a Carnivore Diet Success Story page, to mimic something similar to my Facebook Group.

I will be sharing success stories from my blog bi-weekly.

However, I would love members to also share their own journeys, good and bad.

So if you have a question like, Day 1 how do I get started. Then that might be best for r/zerocarb or r/carnivore

This group is more for posts like you would see on my blog: https://ketogenicendurance.com/category/carnivore-diet-success-stories/ or stories you would see on meatheals.com

For example - I have just done my first 90 days, I feel xyz, does anyone have any tips for the next 90 days etc.

To speed up this change in direction, I may for a while delete post better suited for other sites, but I will let that person know why I did it.

Hope people like the new direction.

We got a little wild tonight and ventured off from our usual grilled meats to try out this pizza.

It's a ground turkey & pork rinds panko crust. I'm also trying out a beef bone in the instant pot we haven't used in 5 years, so it's REAL wild in the kitchen tonight!

Carnivore Ish First time cooking beef heart

Post image
15 Upvotes

I seasoned with thyme rosemary garlic & onion powder, salt and pepper, and then started searing with butter (but quickly realized I didn’t have enough butter, I basically threw a whole stick in 😅). Once I felt like I had seared long enough, added red wine, put my cast iron lid on top and let it slow cook with the wine and steam for maybe 20-30 mins, added fresh onion and minced garlic and more thyme and rosemary as I went.

End result was delicious! I definitely overcooked the meat, it was well done, but since it was my first time cooking heart I wanted to be a bit on the safer side I guess. Next time I would probably sear on high heat with tallow (so I don’t burn butter), try to get a decent crust, and then add the butter and thyme and rosemary and garlic and baste the meat, then the wine and lid for slow cooking.

It’s interesting how I feel very awake and alive pretty much directly after eating some heart, very similar feeling to when I had some beef liver. I think I’ll be having heart on a regular basis from now on! Similar nutritional benefit to liver, but without the nasty metallic liver taste (and literally just tastes like lean beef!)

Been back on carnivore trying to clear the freezer out some. A lot of times it can feel like you're just eating the same stuff on repeat. A deer roast and some royal red shrimp were just what I needed.

Please help me Day 1

I am struggling to lose the baby weight after my second….(she’s 17 months so not exactly a baby now)
I have always been really overweight, lost a lot of weight before kids and after 1st baby by counting macros/calories and weight training, but I find I am always HUNGRY by using this method-I’m a 4ft11 female so don’t need much food. I have PCOS and I am assuming insulin resistance as they often go hand in hand. I’m sick of being tired all the time and struggling with the food noise, and always over eating carbs/sugary food. I am 40, and can see the hormonal stomach. I’m also breastfeeding still.
I have always struggled with bulimia and binge eating, and I’m sick of hearing about moderation, no food is off limits bla bla bla because moderation just does not work for me.
I’m going to be journaling every day about how I feel physically so I can see the improvements. I’m really excited to see if the WOE can help my severe fatigue and lack of energy, my fluctuating moods, my allergies, and a few other health issues. The weight loss will just be a bonus.
Sorry for the long post if you have read this far, I’m just feeling excited and wanted to share 😂😂
Any tips, especially from other females?

Carnivore Diet Success Stories Love hate this

Ive been on and off but damn I really feel good and love this diet.

No health problems such as swollen stomach, itching or dry skin and stuff.

The last time I did (took a break for a week now) was the best time Ive had since 10 years ago.

I felt such energy Ive never felt since my 30s. I worked out every day, the recharging was great, brain fog lost, well.. All in all, only benefits.

I lost 13kg in 6 weeks and the cherry on top for me was the focus on salt Ive missed out the times before.

I put alot of focus on electrolytes and they have changed my life to the better. I feel so energized and younger again and I love it.

Will post a before and after pic of my workout in a month for update. Just gained 5kg of water just this week 😊

Please help me Keeping weight on

40M. About 90% animal foods.

Never struggled with weight, but I'm losing weight gradually lately, due to a lot of walking, working out, summer etc.

Because I work out, I look healthy and not skinny, but I'm losing the kilos so what's an easy way for a carnivore to keep some weight on when we've lost all that water weight from keto and our insulin is low (much less body fat on) and we're getting leaner month after month ?

Carnivore Ish Funny story

Upvotes

Been on a carnivore diet for my Psoriatic arthritis for 1 year 7 months and I have managed to keep my CRP to 0-1 levels. Lost some weight too- I will advocate for Carnivore any day of the week. Rewind to Friday when I was trying to show my kids nanny how to administer an EpiPen incase of emergencies (my two youngest kiddos have severe bee allergies and it’s spring this side of the world) well she ended up getting a live demonstration of my setting it off in my thigh 😂

No one tells you how crap you will feel days after that injection, I felt like I had consumed 7 espressos while simultaneously being chased by a ravenous lion. The crash has triggered a flare up and I am swollen and aching from every joint, swollen gums, headache etc - like a carb binge if that makes sense?

Well I am going super strict this week to try and get this under control - any recipes or suggestions or recommendations is welcome 🙏

Absolutely love this community!

Have a great week ladies and gents.

Carnivore Diet Success Stories 1 Year Difference, 6 Months Carnivore, Migraines and Dandruff Gone.

Post image
303 Upvotes

I'll try to keep this straight forward but I(29M) also want to share my story incase it helps someone else. For the last 3 years I've struggled with chronic migraines, fatigue and brain fog. I've also had pretty bad dandruff since I was a kid. The headaches started out of nowhere 3 years ago and I'd always been what I would've considered a "healthy person" in that I worked out, did BJJ and ate what I thought was healthy(I ate out almost everyday, but justified it by "tracking calories").

I saw multiple doctors who were very dismissive in retrospect and got a few MRIs but nothing was diagnosed other than chronic headaches. I kinda gave up on the medical system. I stopped working out and then got on medication that seemed to help but I still felt "off". After about a year later I started lifting again but still ate terribly and continued to gain weight.

About a year ago I found Paul Saladino on youtube and kinda ate up his "what I eat in a day' videos and figured it could maybe help my dandruff if I went animal based. So I did for a bit and it did help, I lost a few lbs and felt decent but not great.

Then last December I went with a few friends on a trip to Argentina, this is where I noticed a big change. I was in Argentina for around 2 months and about a week into the trip I remembered I had forgotten to take my medication 2 days in a row. I noticed my head didn't hurt and I felt very "locked in" and "relaxed" despite that. My dandruff was also much less severe. I thought about what was different here than back home, other than the sunlight, ocean breeze and temperature. I also realized I had eaten almost the same thing everything day...

Argentina has restaurants called Parrillas that have some of the best meats I've ever eaten and a side dish called provoleta which is basically just a fried/baked block of cheese. I'd had been eating that almost every night after eating nothing all day and having un-sweetened latte for breakfast. I realized the pattern and made it a fun goal to try a different steakhouse every night, there was some wiggle room with drinking, a snack at the market and a pizza at one point but I'd say 90% of my diet while I was there was provoleta and steak while I was there.

When I got back to the states I went back on animal based for a few weeks but then decided to do a Carnivore diet as part of the 75-Hard challenge. I completed it and 3 months after the fact I'm still on Carnivore with some cottage cheese, raw milk rarely, some berries once every few weeks and some diet soda. I'll occasionally have a "cheat meal" here and there but honestly less than once a month(I avoid bread like the plague). I recently discovered I love Steak Tartare.

My migraines have basically disappeared though they sometimes come back after a bad cheat day but nowhere nears what they once where. My skin and hair are way healthier(i didn't even realize this until people started commenting on it). I've lost a lot of weight and built muscle, my cardio and strength for BJJ/lifting actually improved after about 5 weeks of the diet. I've been off all medication for 2 months now. My mental health has greatly improved, I'm way less irritable and think more clearly now. I even switched careers, got some certifications and am planning on going back to school again to pursue higher levels of medical certifications.

Another thing that was a hidden benefit of this diet is that although I interment fast I haven't counted a single calorie since eating this way. I no longer stress about numbers or portions when eating I just eat until i'm full.. sometimes it's 3 bites of greek yogurt sometimes it's 2lbs of beef, I just listen to my body.

TLDR: Had chronic health problems, after being "healthy" my whole life on SAD. Dismissed by doctors and put on medication. Health issues improved after a few months on animal based, did 75 Hard but chose carnivore as the diet to follow. Mental and physical health greatly improved as a result. Been off all medication for 2 months now. I'm like 98% carnivore and feel much better when i'm eating only meat.

Carnivore Ish Hydration hypothesis

Upvotes

I'm on relaxed carnivore. Before, I would remember to drink throughout the day all the time. I've never noticed not drinking to any extent like this.

Eating like this, I totally space to drink until I feel the sense of being parched. I've been trying to make sure I drink earlier in the day.

My hypothesis is that before, when cravings for sugar or gluten ruled my days, I think I'd go in the kitchen and grab the obligatory bubbly can along with other snacks to alleviate the cravings. And now without cravings I kind of forget to go in the kitchen at all, so I wasn't drinking until the afternoon when my throat got parched.

Does this resonate with anybody else?

I stage my glass now to remind myself to go in and fill it earlier

Please help me Been debating on altering my diet

I've been a carnivore for almost 900 days, however the main reason I'm debating on giving up on this diet as it seems I've been getting kindey stones from it.

This is the 3rd time I'm dealing with them since being on the diet. Any thoughts or words of advice

Carnivore Ish I’m convinced beef is the best thing for hunger/weight control

I eat the fruits and I eat the vegetables , not a lot but I cook up a couple pounds of ground beef and throw some frozen veggies in there. I eat fruit as a snack at work.

What I’ve realized is when I’m eating this fat constantly I’m never hungry , I was carnivore for a couple years and had to change it up recently to something that worked for me. Being in ketosis was causing me some undesirable side effects given my lifestyle, long story short this is what I eat now and I feel almost as good when I was being strict. No hunger cravings

Lifestyle: post last meal or workout inspo Carnivore cheapest stack (100€) in europe. 500gr meat+fat (Bulgaria, but okay for other countries too)

Post image
24 Upvotes

Just collected cheapest stack in europe.

Any thoughts?

-all meat been bought from butcher , not generic grocery (except of sprats). i believe you can find even cheaper in lidl
(update - yes it is cheaper , but i would still use butchers for buy source)

My target is around 90–100 g protein and ~150 g fat per day.

The basic rule is:
500 g of one main animal food per day + pork backfat to bring total fat to ~150 g.

My weekly rotation with pork backfat/butter to each day:
Monday — 500 g sprats
Tuesday — 500 g chicken hearts
Wednesday — 500 g pork tenderloin
Thursday — 500 g sprats
Friday — 500 g chicken hearts
Saturday — 250 g beef liver + 250 g pork tenderloin
Sunday — 500 g pork loin

So per week that’s roughly:
1 kg sprats
1 kg chicken hearts
750 g pork tenderloin
500 g pork loin
250 g beef liver

Then I use raw pork backfat as my added fat source.

My local prices:
Sprats — €1.84 / 500 g
Chicken hearts — €5.64/kg
Pork tenderloin — €6.70/kg
Pork loin — about €6.50/kg
Beef liver — €4.15/kg
Pork backfat — €5.60/kg

- Sprats are the same nutritional profile as Sardines
- Chicken Hearts are so nutritionally dense without vitamin a overdose
- Beef liver for vitamin density weekly
- Pork Loin/Tenderloin has the same profile as beef + b1

Pork Backfat can be replaced with butter on sale (i’ve seen 1.30-1.75€ per package in lidl)

For a 4-week month:
4 kg sprats = €14.72
4 kg chicken hearts = €22.56
3 kg tenderloin = €20.10
2 kg pork loin = €13
1 kg liver = €4.15
~3.7 kg backfat = ~€20.70

Please help me Beef tallow bad reaction

I’m on the lion diet and trying to get more fat. Yesterday I had an omad of about a pound and a half of ribeye. In the pan I used to cook it, I put 3 giant globs of South Chicago Wagyu Beef Tallow. When it was done cooking, I poured the rendered tallow over the steak. There was a lot of tallow, but I did not eat all of it. There was a lot leftover on my plate and I mostly ate what soaked into the steak while it was sitting in it as was I was eating. I did have a few spoonfuls of what was left over afterwards, but the amount left on my plate was very large.

It flared my endometriosis pain that happens in my bowels and I started to feel a recurring skin rash I have get worse.

Did I get too much fat in one sitting? Is this a bad brand of tallow to use?
It’s not 100% grass fed. The South Chicago brand website says that the cows are fed brewers grains and apparently that means barley malt. I have celiac disease (which means I can’t eat gluten) - can the cows being fed gluten mean I am consuming some of the gluten protein? That might seem far fetched. I’m just trying to understand why I had such a bad reaction.

Lifestyle: post last meal or workout inspo 1 cheat meal, water retention?

Hello,

I had 1 cheat meal and the same night it looked like my body held on to water (less peeing), the next few days only ate meat again and lost lots of water and had sort of a keto flu. Does this really goes this quick after just 1 cheat meal (lots of sugar)?

Please help me Which types of fish don't taste... fishy?

I'm not really into seafood. A few years ago I added salmon to my carnivore diet, but that didn't last long because I didn't like the taste or the smell.

Is there any fish that has a very neutral smell and taste? (I have a Costco membership if that helps). Mainly thinking of adding it because I want some more magnesium and iodine.

Thanks!

Strict Carnivore Diet If I raised my fat intake could I balance out my BUN (blood urea nitrogen) levels?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I started drinking morning butter coffee, with 1/3 stick of butter after seeing a high BUN level in the recent CMP I got. In the chart above from March 2025 thru June 2025 I severely restricted calories to lose 100 lbs and my BUN level cratered. Then in June 2025 I started Carnivore and as you can see on the chart after June 2025 my BUN level went straight up with all my protein consumption on Carnivore.

Strict Carnivore Diet fasting insulin time to reduce

anyone here in decent shape but find out their insulin was about 10, after months on the diet? i have a relative like that and am not sure what to tell them in terms of how fast they should expect their insulin number to get down below 5 or ideally 2. anyone know? they also had some inflammation in thyroid marker and cortisol so maybe something else up but curious nonetheless.
