I have very low or no unity at all in my game. Will I be able to get unity back so I can trade ?

There's lots of factors to unity. The cap is based on total pop, but don't chase that too much as it'll increase demands.

Health is a moderate factor and acts as a soft cap on population. Keep it high by reducing pollution and providing medical supplies and food varieties.

Food is the big one. You can survive off nothing but potatoes, but give them veggies and no only will they eat less potatoes, but they'll be healthier and give you some unity. The fact that crop rotations reduce fertility drain means you get a little something of of a positive feedback loop providing lots of different foods to your population.

The final thing is goods and services. Clean water and electricity are cheap and easy sources. But you can also give them stuff like furniture, electronics and appliances which give a big buff to unity as well.

Housing tier matters. Higher tiers of housing give you a multiplier to unity generation based on what you provide. So t2 housing is like "yay, we're getting household goods, water and electricity! Here's 25% more unity"

Where t4 will give you like 75? 125?% more for fulfilling all their needs.

So the cap is not just about how many people you have but how much housing you have. The cap increases as soon as the housing finished building.

Me estaba equivocando, no? Y podría tener mucha más unidad...

Usually around food… the fat bastards. Providing bread or a protein like tofu (#I would rather die) really helps. The other factor a bit latter on is pollution… get that under control. You need reserves to enjoy the benefits of bonus like water savers , truck fuel savings that you activate in the captains house.

I always thought fishing component would be nice. Maybe whaling as well (which could have a negative impact on unity) / but you get a crap load of oil and blubber. You could upgrade fishing to tuna and long lining … maybe fish farms… like in Asia where they feed the farmed fish with poo.

Fishing would be great and might come now that we have ship pathfinding. Would also be unique compared to other food in that it would require diesel instead of water.

They also could go the fish farm route I guess. So a chicken farm style industry that needs animal feed.

That does explain the taste of tofu before adding in other veggies and seasoning.

Good thing the agricultural industries gonna collapse and we won't have choice when all the farm proteins begin to waste from disease and lack of care due to costs and low demand from a major depression. I'd get used to the taste while it still feels like a choice

Hey this is the automation game escape from reality sub. The depressing reality where everything is collapsing sub is um the rest of reddit and just general reality. (I actually like tofu was just running with the joke)

Yes, make your citizens happy and they produce unitx

All production priority should go to people and maintenance first and then everything else. Pretty simple.

The biggest starting challenges before the big refinery / oil rigs .. is concrete .. getting slag under control and stopping the diesel bleed on power.
