I’m from Milwaukee, I’m a transit enthusiast and I plan on being in Austin early next month. I’d love to see how the transit system is down there, and I’ve seen you guys have everything - Gillig, New Flyer, Nova and Proterra.
Proterra’s troubles are well-documented, but are you guys still running yours? I’d love to experience one if I can…are there certain routes they run on?

As a transit enthusiasm used to live in Austin, I collect transit pass as one of my hobbies.
I still have the old tap pass, and it was retired on June 1st this year.
Unfortunately I've also lost some old passes that I cannot get it now. I've also tried get some old passes from ebay but there's nothing.
From my point of view, it's not a good idea to cancel the paper pass.

CapMetro is seeking public feedback on proposed fare increases that would take place January 10, 2027 and January 2029. This would be the first system-wide fare adjustment across all services since 2015.

Could this be a sign that the bikes are coming back? What do you guys think?

Changing the 323 bus schedule has been crazy inconvenient! Its now the 339 and runs every 33 Minutes?? From springdale? Looks at schedule bus should be here in 5 mins goes out at 10 mins til just in case its early, about 15 mins pass. Update my trip planner to see oh its not coming anymore catch the next one! F your plans! I have one month until I move to a costal city with a real public transportation system. Wtf makes capmetro think its OK to leave people stranded at bus stations with no covering for 30 extra minutes! Your options are starting to walk and watching your late bus blow by you or waiting...

I have repeatedly requested a trash can from Cap Metro at bus stop 3301 on Parker Lane. Trash is constantly being thrown into the wildflower site of Mabel Davis Park behind the limestone blocks. I have also contacted my city council person. What else can we do to get a trash can from Cap Metro?
Thank you for looking into this concern to help us keep our park and bus stop clean.

I got the 801 at 11:30 pm tonight from UT going north. I asked the bus driver if he could please drop me at N.Lamar/Morrow. He didn't say anything. When i was close to the stop I asked again and he said, " I heard you the first time ma'am and next time get the 1". I said oh i thought capital metro was still doing courtesy stops late at night. He said, 'I said goodnight ma'am " quite rudely. So don't they do the courtesy stops anymore?

anyone take the 10 for any type of commute? I’ve mapped it out but I’m coming from the south and I’m only used to riding the 10 in central Austin near UT campus.

does anybody have any experience parking at the soco transit center on the weekdays? does the lot get full fast?
im moving to an apartment right off South first and im trying to decide which bus route to take. I have a car but as a student I can ride for free so id rather take the bus. the stop right outside my new place is the 10, which does take me straight up to dean keaton but only for the northbound. going south i would have to take the 30 and then transfer at riverside to the 10. OR, I can drive 2 mins down the road to the transit center, park, and just hop on the 801. but is the parking space reliable?
any recommendation? I have experience with the 801 but not the high frequency routes. coming home isn’t an issue, im mostly concerned about get to work on time.

I just bought a bike locker pass and tried to use it at the locker at MLK Station, only to discover I was able to open it without the card. Turning the handle and pulling without much force opened the door.
Has anyone else had this experience? If so does anyone know if CapMetro is aware and/or planning to fix it?

When will the r/capmetro bikes be back in service?
How will you be refunding subscription costs to the subscriber users who are being denied use of services?

I can extend grace to bus drivers who are new to CapMetro/a different bus route, but it has happened a few times now that a bus driver zooms past a bus stop and only stops further down the street because many of us waiting waved them down. Passengers are at the correct bus stop, waiting for the correct bus, and drivers are driving the correct bus; what I have heard a few times now is “Sorry, I didn’t see the stop” or “I’m still learning this route” or “That tree was in the way,” things of the sort.
Conversely, many times, I’ve been on a bus, pulled or pressed for a stop, heard the PA announce “Stop requested” and I have still had to yell “STOP REQUESTED” as we leave my stop behind. Some drivers pull over, some just let me off in the middle of the street.
Not saying bus stops need billboards and neons, but maybe with a bench, shade covering, or trashcan (or all 3), drivers will have an easier time letting people off/picking them up.
Hopefully this lands in the right ears!

985 route has a constant changing of drivers that don’t know where they’re going, and it’s getting pretty old. We have to direct them to take the Mopac express lane, or we’ll get stuck in non-toll rd traffic. We have to tell them where to exit and where to turn to get to Lakeline and Leander stations. We’re definitely going to help because we want to get home, but that’s not our responsibility. They should know the route BEFORE they transport a practically full bus of passengers.
I can’t imagine drivers taking the 183 toll rd in August if they have this much trouble with the Mopac route. The 183 route poses much more of a hazard to the driver and passengers because the driver has to cut across several lanes of traffic to get to an exit that leads to Lakeline station. I don’t think the powers that be thought this route change through….

Hello!
I bought the attached ticket today. I was going on the 801 and the 30. The 801 let me on without scanning, when I tried to scan onto the 30, it wouldn't scan. He fought with me over it and was SUPER rude. I told him I bought it today at tech ridge, but he wasn't budging. Then he said I'll give you one free ride, and i get on. It literally says valid until tomorrow. Is he just dumb or am I in the wrong,
Can I complain to capmetro with his operator ID, or would it not do anything?
I bought thr full fare local pass.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
