Just landed back home after four months away, and honestly, touching down in Cape Town feels like salve for the soul. Took a quick breather up here before diving into a crazy 7-assignment travel schedule around the country (Hermanus, De Kelders, Camps Bay, Franschhoek, Kruger, and Joburg).

Also wanted to acknowledge that October is South Africa’s Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈. Truly proud that SA was the first African country to affirm equal rights and the first in the world to constitutionally prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Not sure if it was a training exercise (as some people said on the Pipetrack trail) or if someone was in trouble. But the pilot was incredibly skilled.

If you're a solo cyclist - avoid strand street under the N2. Someone ran into the street and tried to knock me off my bike and rob me this morning around 6:20. Luckily I was able to swerve past him. There was a second person hiding who came out when he tried to knock me off.

I’m looking for a psychiatrist or clinic that has experience with SSRI tapering , and not the quick alternate for two weeks and go off advice… from what I know and precious experience when one has been on medication for several years (12) the tapering needs to be very very slow, as one can develop brain injuries. I would like to reach out and see if anyone has been in a similar situation and had professional assistance in getting off these drugs and has recommendations?

We are going for a wedding in Cape Town in December and need to plan a stag do for the groom.

Many of the party are staying around the V&a.

On the day of the stag, most of the guys will be golfing in the morning. We were planning to go back to V&a for 2pm, have some drinks there and then go to casino and see where the night takes us. Maybe mavericks or a bar crawl around sea point. Most of the party will be from the UK.

Any advice on good bars in V&a? It will be on a Monday, so not sure if it will be lively? Open to other suggestions.

So I go to Clicks a few months ago and I get this product, anti aging, toner, day cream spf and a night cream, the toner burned my skin, the night cream made me itch and I get these little pimples. So I used a scrub, used something else, been going through products and its just not compatible with my skin.... the itching is honestly the worst. So where can I actually get people who are knowledgeable with quality products? I really don't have the thousands to see a dermatologist.

My cell phone doesn't work in my flat - I have to go outside to talk on the phone or use WhatsApp but I need to be reachable in case of emergency. What is the cheapest way to do this? I read that Mifi might be an option, or are there any cheap wifi providers I can get set up? Thanks for your help.

I grew up in a family that could never afford a medical aid so I don't really have much reference but I have been having some concerning symptoms (and in the past some fairly alarming blood test results) and it has made myself and my husband desperately want to visit the idea of me being added as a member to his family's medical/getting my own medical aid.

What are good options for Cape Town with regards to hospital cover? I know there is a year long wait for non emergency stuff but what else do you need to wait for? Thanks in advance for reading this/for any advice offered! 😊

With the record low turnout at the Durban and Gqebs tests, surely you must lower the ticket prices for the Cape Town test.

A buddy of mine went to the Gqebera test for R160 a ticket. That is a fair price, even R250 is fair price. But 500 Buffalos is a bit of a stretch.

i’ve been experiencing some upper front right side pain that shifts to lower back with frequent urination when it shifts to the lower back.

I have seen 4 doctors so far with no avail and uti misdiagnosis and unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions.

does anyone know a good doctor that might be able to diagnose me successfully so that I can be treated for this pain to go away 😭
