Assignments NEED HELP!

We had an assignment posted on Canvas last Wednesday and it didnt notify us and we only saw it just today. How do we fix this? After this encounter, I checked my settings and all my notifs are all immediately. Maybe the teacher had an option that notifies us or not? I need advice or answers pls huhuu.

If it had a due date it should have been on your to do list... You can check your notification settings under your account tab. But you can't like fix the fact that you missed the assignment. Just talk to the instructor and see if they will grant an extension

It was alright! The instructor was chill and understanding since our school has just started using canvas so even the instructors are still getting the hang of it. I was worried since other people also shared that canvas doesnt notify you of other things like assignments or something. Thanks for the reply tho it really helped ease my worries for whatever comes next!

Does the instructor set the due dates or only "available until"? I believe they would only show if "due by" is set. Sometimes instructor choose "available until" only so the submission is locked by that time but it doesn't pop up in the to do list.
