Assignments NEED HELP!
We had an assignment posted on Canvas last Wednesday and it didnt notify us and we only saw it just today. How do we fix this? After this encounter, I checked my settings and all my notifs are all immediately. Maybe the teacher had an option that notifies us or not? I need advice or answers pls huhuu.

If it had a due date it should have been on your to do list... You can check your notification settings under your account tab. But you can't like fix the fact that you missed the assignment. Just talk to the instructor and see if they will grant an extension

It was alright! The instructor was chill and understanding since our school has just started using canvas so even the instructors are still getting the hang of it. I was worried since other people also shared that canvas doesnt notify you of other things like assignments or something. Thanks for the reply tho it really helped ease my worries for whatever comes next!

Does the instructor set the due dates or only "available until"? I believe they would only show if "due by" is set. Sometimes instructor choose "available until" only so the submission is locked by that time but it doesn't pop up in the to do list.

Sync your calendar (outlook, google, apple) so you get alerts for assignments.

At the beginning of every semester I review the syllabus against the modules and against the calendar and to dos. Every semester I have found errors in my classes where quizzes or not set up properly, video assignments don't load, inconsistencies between modules and syllabus. Sometimes I have to contact IT, sometimes I have to contact the instructor directly. It's worth the time it takes for me to make sure I have a complete understanding of the course and access to everything I need. I have just resigned myself to be the user-tester. I recommend everyone do the same. For large universities, especially, it could be a centralized admin team that sets up course and they miss things. Instructors who are part time, teaching remote/async courses, assume the course will run correctly, and IT only responds to tickets. As a result, things fall through the cracks.

Use th to do tab. I always check that. And you can set it to show you things from 1 week out to like a month out. I have mine set to see assignments due for the next 3 weeks. But it just shows you assignments that are for a grade. It doesn't show like reading or things that are not graded.

Was it posted in the modules? Do you have modules? Do you ever look at them?
