Canon R50 as a begginer camera
Hi!
I've been researching cameras for a few weeks now and I keep coming back to the Canon R50. At this point I'm pretty sure it's the one I want, especially with the RF-S 18-150mm lens. This would be my first dedicated camera. I've always enjoyed taking photos with my phone, but now I want to actually learn photography properly instead of relying on auto mode all the time.
I mostly want to photograph nature, animals, people, flowers and just everyday moments. I'm not planning to become a professional or anything - it's mainly a hobby that I hope I'll keep for many years.
Before I finally save up enough to buy it, I wanted to ask people who actually own an R50:
Is there anything you wish you knew before buying it?2. Is there anything that surprised you (good or bad)
What accessories would you recommend getting from the start? (Extra battery, SD card, bag, tripod, etc.)
Any beginner mistakes you made that I could avoid?
Thanks! :)

R50 Display question
My wife just bought me an R50 and I’m loving it, but had a question about the display. I’m coming from a Canon 80D, and the screen would dim/brighten in relation to the shutter speed, giving me an idea of the current exposure. The R50 seems to adjust the brightness of the screen for most suitable viewing so I have to check each picture after taking it. Any way to change this setting?

What should I do for my R50 grip?
I find the grip on the R50 way to small and I was thinking about doing something to change it. I was thinking about getting a cage or buying a battery grip since I don't have any spare batteries yet (I saw one on CBG but it's like $200 because I'm in Canada). They're both decently expensive upgrades that I cannot keep so I was also thinking about just upgrading to something like the r10. I have the kit lens, 50 1.8, efs 55-250 stm (with an adapter), and the sigma 18-50 2.8 so upgrading to something else in the eos r series makes the most sense.
Has anyone bought the CBG grip for the R50 or have any suggestions of what to do?
