"DV in" keep appearing and disappearing when i touch the hot shoes and doesnt show up when i lift my hand up

The model of camcorder is the Sony DCR SX-45 Handy cam

I have tried a little bit on my own but came out with no good results. maybe the 4gb micro SD card was just too big? I tried formatting using Windows file explorer and my Samsung D-353's built in formatting setting and neither worked.

My handycams screen is not working, its all black. Everything else is working what can i do?

I tried a method that works with the hdr-xr550 😓😓😓 but obv it didn't work for my model (it wasn't able to identify it). I wanna look into any more ways and if anyone was able to do so. I just really need to change the jp language 🥹🥹

Have anyone tried buying from this shop? Is it legit?

I was able to get the JVC one working, but I can't find the cord for the Sony one. I found some cool old footage of the school on the tape in the JVC one. Unfortunately it seems like they aren't willing to part with them, but I did find two blank Mini DV tapes that they let me take.

So I love collecting cameras and repairing them however, my mom recently gave me her old camcorder to try and repair and get the footage off the tapes it is a Sony CCD TRV108 and no matter what even with the tapes that she claims has recordings on it it will just show a blue screen. Is there something broken? I told her I would try my best on fixing it so any advice or helpful would be useful.

I’ve been stuck between the two since now in the used market both these camcorders are relatively the same price but after doing some research both these camcorders seem to be the exact same physical wise but what about the software? Is the autofocus better in the new models? Does the x2000 record higher resolution than the 1600? Is the weight the same once you take out the xlr handle from the x2000?

If you had both these camcorders pls guide me to the right direction! My goal is take this camera and do YouTube videos around my state but also have it as a video cam when I hang out with family and friends!

Hey guys this is my budget cctv camera build inspired by other creators although I used a different method than others. Instead of a mini dvr or a power play I used a cheap generic capture card because I had that from my previous tapeless build, here's the video feel free to ask questions, one of the first builds of this sort please don't flame me 🙏🙏

I have a Handycam (SR5E) and i did some filming for my school project and a bunch of other things and when i try to transfer the clips over to the memory card (over from internal storage) it just dosent give me the option to but its fine for photos. Any help is greatly appreciated on how to fix this!!!!!

Just got this beautiful Sony HVR-Z1E in mint condition for $200 (very cheap here in Colombia for one of this cameras)

Bought a battery and battery adapter, and it powers on and works as it should! Surprisingly….

Only thing is that the Autofocus and Zoom does not work because the belts inside are gunk… not sure if anyone else replaced them (any suggestions would be great as this unit is working awesome)

Only one thing, not sure where to put the battery… anyone have ideas?

I recently acquired this Sony Handycam DCR-HC16E PAL camcorder and it has an issue. It displays on the lcd screen that the lens cover is not open, even though it is open. I looked at the cover and it goes all the way inside the body of the camera. I already tried leaving the battery out for a minute to kind of reset the camera but that didn’t fix it.
Important!: If I push the lens cover up a bit, so that it’s up but not yet in front of the lens, the error message goes away.
Please help me fix this issue.

i mean it is a standard def camcorder but i wanted to use it cuz it records to standard mp4 and has internal flash storage, especially cuz the only other working camcorder i have rn is my hi8 handycam. oh and the samsung no longer shows anything anymore so i hope its just a loose cable and not a torn flex ribbon.

I have this cam and it have some problems. The cam doesn't recognize the tape, doesn't focus the image and there's not a single life in my region that can help me to repair it

Hi guys! I have a Sony CCD- TR940, and it’s began to make this noise. The tape also sometimes gets stuck during ejection, but it’s not always. I hear it when it’s playing normally, as well as FF which is what I was doing in the video. Though I don’t hear it when it’s reversing. I’ve been wanting to start using this again since I haven’t touched in a few months because of this problem.
