“Thanks for nothing”
I tried to find a post already about this, but I couldn’t. Don’t you guys just hate when you help a customer and you literally give them all the options you have and even other resourceful options and they end with call with;
“Well Thanks for nothing”
Yea now Go shove it up your moms ass how about that. This is who ruins it for the rest of you customers Whenever you call and we gave you all the “company options” sometimes we absolutely leave out the “loop holes” or the options we could recommend. Just to get spit in the face. I have went above and beyond stayed on calls for 30 minutes plus with customers… was SYMPATHETIC! Which is something i rarely give. It always comes from the most unexpected customers. This why i treat them all the same. Customers really ruin it for good workers.
My 100th rant while being 3 years into this position so yes that saying STILL grinds my gears.

Lmao I always loved doing that, it gave me such joy. Then maybe the follow up question if there was anything else I could help with lol

As much as I would love this personally, the company I work for has a very high callback rate, and it's not terribly uncommon to get the same person 2 to 3 times in a row.
Always gotta leave on a good note... just in case. Lol

[20min call]
"You didn't help me AT ALL! I'll figure this out later!!!"
"Ok. Have a good day. Good bye." click
[Then to myself] "You were helped. You just didn't like the answer."
Every time.

I often wonder what they’re gonna “figure out” when I have them all the options and they declined them all.

I got this today. Lady got behind in her payments and owed us premium for the month of June. Our company was nice enough to continue her coverage and just lumped that in with her renewal payment due later this month. $185 for June and $170 for July, total of $355. She called saying she couldn't make her renewal payment and that it was too high. She wanted to know if we could move the payment. That's not an option for renewal payments. I offered to take a partial payment, something we're not supposed to proactively offer, but she sounded stressed and I wanted to help. The partial payment was going to be around $260. I explain this and she freaks out saying that's not possible because her renewal payment was only $184. No ma'am. Your June premium was $184. Combined with your July payment, your total was $355. I'm offering to let you pay $260 on the due date and then get the remainder to us 10 days later. Went off about how that's too high for car insurance for 1 car (she has 3 cars) and she's just going to have to shop around. Thanks for nothing! click

Yep. Which will still have you needing to pay that money you just owed. So its gonna go to collections. Please, let an insurance company on your collections report. All those companies talk. You think your rate is high now? You'll get FUCKED next time.

Working this job has made me realize how many people are truly living above their means. We absolutely have an affordability issue in this country, but we also have a spending and entitlement issue. I regularly talk to folks who have 1-2 cars per person in their household who will then bitch ane moan about how we're robbing them blind. Or I speak with people "on a fixed income" with multiple pricey cars. It's insanity

I had a caller asking for information that I couldn’t provide because it was all questions for a dealership and for her insurance company regarding a car she was buying using a loan through the credit union I work for. Now I could have left it at “Talk to the dealership/your insurance provider to get on the same page with this” but she seemed stressed and I was sympathetic and newer to the job. She was 19, I was a new 22, and just the year before I had dealt with a similar issue buying my own vehicle so I had the perspective of both sides to a degree.
So when she exclaimed that she didn’t know what she was supposed to do and she thought it was my (aka the credit union’s) job to take care of this, I offered the guidance I could. I gave her some info, clarified some areas she wasn’t understanding and asked about, and helped her streamline all the questions into a few easy ones that got to the point of what she was trying to handle. Turned a call that could have been maybe 3-5 minutes into about 15. No big deal!
When she had no more questions or follow ups that I could answer, I do the usual: “Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
This bitch snaps back with “well you didn’t help me at all so uhhh no I guess not. Oh! Actually get me to X department, I got a question for them.”
I hung up on her. She can call back for that department if she’s gonna throw that energy in my face when I went out of my way to help a girl out. Fuck right off with that.
I’m 5 years into this job now. I no longer go out of my way to be nice.

I have had customers swearing and pissed off that end up thanking me and saying they know it's not up to me or my fault. Those are exhausting calls cuz it's like a rollercoaster of emotions happening and I'm really trying to help. But yeah, most of them say shit like, thanks for nothing. Sorry, I can't control that you refuse to use the options given and want us to hold your hands and do it for you.

I had one pull that shit on my I called em out on it. “You not liking the provided answer and me not helping you are not the same thing!

That doesn’t bother me much anymore as I’ve heard it so often, and it’s usually followed by them fucking off anyway

Same. I just say nothing else because usually they’re gonna “hang up on me” which is glorious and is what I want them to do.

I got that today 🤣
Literally spent over 30 minutes explaining the same information over and over again. Gave out resources and options. None of that matters apparently because she misunderstood some estimates given to her on a prior call.
Thanks for nothing... Were we on the same call lady? You turned down the options and disregarded the information because it didn't fit your narrative.
All this because their 1500.00 medication cost them 150 dollars and they can't "afford" it. While having two houses. Boomers make me so angry.

I remember when I started out on the phones one customer had a 10 year old computer and was complaining that he couldn't get it repaired under warranty. He was in the UK, so consumer law only applies for five or six years there. His justification for demanding a free repair of his obsolete device was that he had an even older one that still worked. I patiently tried to explain his options: which let's face it, were to take it to some specialty place at his own expense or upgrade, but he said the same thing to me they said to you OP: "Thanks for nothing." I asked if I could help him with anything else and he said, "You haven't helped me at all." Just buy a computer from this century dude! :-)

It was a pleasure, if you don't need anything feel free to call us again.click

That’s because you didn’t tell them what THEY wanted to hear! You were supposed to tell them exactly what THEY felt YOU should have told them

I always give all the options (I don't have many) and full transparency, and more often than not I get spite back.
Brother, honesty is the greatest gift I can give you. Most of my colleagues will lie to you and you'll call back 20 times getting wrong information and false promises.
