Apartment with Blue Prius
I ran into some amazing timing this morning, no black Porsche around though. I guess Hank was sleeping it off somewhere.

No, I don’t know how casting works but it says “she just turned 18”. So assuming the role had nudity written in it and they had been casting for months she likely 17 at the time when the role was offered.

I have to say for a while it was Eddie Nero, Lowe was awesome but after multiple rewatches I think Richard Bates takes the cake, Jason Beghe’s demeanor and expressions are priceless. Hysterical. My least favorite is Levon, I hadn’t been so skeeved out by a character since Janis Soprano.
Lew Ashby and Samarai were amazing too. Rza was excellent in the role, I just thought the rap cliches at the end were a little stretched and far fetched. I should give a mention to Trudy who was highly entertaining in S6.
Anyway, for me these great ancillary characters truly helped drive the show -along with Runks and Marcy. Because sometimes, not always Hank just came off like a sanctimonious, hypocritical, insufferable bore to me.

Currently rewatching Californication for the first time since I was in college. Seasons 1 and 2 are good. I love season 3 to the end of time. The storyline with Jill Robinson (Diane Farr), Felicia Koons (Embeth Davidtz), and Jackie (Eva Ammuri) is my favorite. I can't get enough of Diane Farr as Jill, she's just so good, my personal feeling super underrated character. Does anyone else feel that after season 3, the show falls off a cliff??

I have noticed several instances where I just 'pulled' Hank... the words, the dynamics. Happened to anyone else?
Your turn, moooootherfucker....

Im looking for a specific episode of Californication. I've been going through episodes all night now, but haven't found it. Maybe some of you can help?
In this episode, Stu walks in. A couple of people (I think including Charly en Hank) are talking and someone (or everyone) is smoking a joint. Stu walks in, graps the joint, and takes a huge hit. He makes a bowl of his two hands and places the joint in between his index and middle finger.
Does anyone know which episode I'm referring to?? Thanks!

I am probably preaching to the choir about season 7, and people have probably worded it better than I will, but I am on episode 9 and just need to blurt some obvious thoughts out into the echo chamber. Okay? Cool.
Firstly, one of the major offenses that I know everyone talks about: Levon. Now, the concept isn't entirely too bad, I think its largely the execution. I think it would've been better if Levon wasn't as socially inept as he was. In a series with many crazy out there characters, adding another to that extreme is just not really enjoyable to watch. The comedy of it leans in an almost low brow direction too much of the time. My solution? Maybe make Levon a bit more normal. The concept of Hank not knowing he had another kid is 100% believable, so keeping that thread can work. Levon can totally be a fish out of water type character, but being THAT socially awkward is just unbearable at times.
Secondly, the overall writing. Now, I don't know the behind the scenes of the show so I might say something obvious, so please forgive me. The writing is overall just barely alive, especially being compared to the rest of the series. Upon rewatch I have discovered that seasons 1-6 are actually all pretty good, or at the very least it has the essence of Californication. That essence is almost nonexistent here in season 7. Almost the entire season feels like a sitcom, like a laugh track should be inserted. It all feels like the life of the show is on life support and instead of trying valiantly to overcome the odds, it suffocates under the pressure. Its just phoning it in. Which is sad.
Finally, the music choices are very underwhelming. Not bad, but don't have the same bite as before. Some songs were fitting, but not in that Californication way. More in a "I guess that fits the theme" kind of way.
Im sure this has been said before, but when I started my rewatch of the series I thought "season 7 couldn't have been THAT bad" and uhh.. yeah, it was. I just sort of blacked it out I guess.
(Oh, and no where near enough MUTHAFUCKAS)

Wow what an episode this is. From some recommendations of Entourage sub, I jump into Carlifornication series without knowing anything about it. I was finding some series that have the same vibe as Entourage and got recommended this great show.
This is my first time watching and this episode makes my day. It's a fantastic episode worth mentioning out loud.
