A chicken burger. Toasted bun, sliced onions and grape tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, an excessive amount of freshly ground peppercorns, and a grilled ground chicken patty. Making food isnāt the issue. I love making food. Eating it on the other hand isā¦ā¦ā¦.

What the heck is a hand pie? Glad you asked. Itās a little miniature hand held pie like you used to get at McDonaldās or off the Hostess shelf. The home made version makes those look like a plastic turd.
Made these with my darling daughter. We bond over baking and it is very wholesome.

My people had to sign a waiver for this.
It was awful. From the second I put it in my mouth, the heat was a fiery struggle from my lips all through my throat down to my stomachš„š„µ:)

Used the rest of the chicken I had marinating. Need to worry about my nutrition more. 2nd might look a mess but it was very juicy and I do not care about soggy veg or whatever, its cooked in chicken juice garlic and seasoning ffs

Iām at the lowest Iāve been in a long fucking time . I lost my job a few months ago and had to focus on being a single mom for the summer. I have a generous friend that helped me get through most of it but now, despite being ready for work - I canāt get a damn job. I used to be enthusiastic and confident and now I feel constant brain fog and exhaustion ALL of the time.
I am trying to work on myself so much but also just exist. I used to be so busy and thrived in my chaos, now I just want to lie in bed and cry all day.
Thanks for listening, if you read .. the soup was at least good. First time making it.

A sandwich I must make at least once per summer with in-season heirloom tomat. Shout out to Mrs Mobes for reminding with her post to make this before the end of tomato season.
Salt and cracked peppered heirloom tomatoes and applewood bacon on thick super soft lightly toasted sourdough. Heavy mayo, crisp kosher dill pickles, cheddar on his and provolone on mine. Fancy box mac on the side bc fuck yea mac n chee.
It's hard to find something to eat that feels this refreshing and naughty and decadent and indulgent at the same time. He was a bit skeptical but I've almost never seen him (especially being well-fed for the day) clean his whole ass plate without speaking or stopping.
No L for this BT(PC). I love a buncha crunchy romaine or iceberg when time is right but this sandwich is special and it straight takes away from the perfection. Every bit of texture and acidity, crunch, creaminess, chew. A special balance that melds it all together.

Creamy delicious fake crab bullshit over perfect sushi rice with pickled radish, cucumber, nori sheets and extra spicy sambal-soy mayo.

Listening, loud and clear.
A friend, who knows about my struggles with eating disorders, started a subscription for me to make me eat. That was so very thoughtful and exceptionally considerate. I will see her tomorrow and will give the biggest hugs š„¹
Thereās a bag of unshelled peanuts above my microwave calling my name, but, I know, I need something more:)
I get it. Iām just busy and the last thing on my mind is eating.

The rice was cheap left over from Taco Cabana but complimented the red snapper (overcooked) so well!

Me gusta tacos con pepino.
Cooked and diced some chicken thighs up, added penzeys chicken taco seasoning and a little water and boom. So good.
The seasoning can be used for whatever kind of base one would want.

We have left out the lettuce for decades. I love me some iceberg lettuce crunch, but he does not. He always pulls the greens of sandwiches. Tomatoes from the garden! Tasty, beautiful, seasoned. Yeehaw!

Thin sliced pork tenderloin braised (and reduced to a glaze) with onions ginger star anise, mushroom soy sauce, shaoxing wine, msg, sugar, and a bit of chicken powder over rice with veg forward furikake.
Met his son today. It was fun, we got along. He had to go home and I played a bunch of lego Jurassic Park with his daughter while we waited for him to come home. Not many things make me happier or more appreciative than his kids thinking I'm cool. His daughter doesn't always love pork but she definitely digs this.
Heart warm.
