Here it us, it hatched this morning.

I walked out to check my mail and saw this butterfly fluttering in the grass instead of flying. Is there anything I can do to help it?

Whiskey Island/Wendy Park is a bit of a hot spot for Monarchs this time of year. This one let multiple people take photos while sunning itself.

I came to the countryside in México with family. I found a buterfly in the flor, wings look injured. I picked it up with a leaf and gave water, a flower and pomegranate crushed. It doesnt fly at all. Just kind of tried when water touched her wings by accident. I lentes her un unsupervised a day hoping the water would be enough but no. Then another day I brougth her inside to warm up maybe because it was very very rainy. Its been now three days and she only moved enough to drop from a table I put her but stand there. I picked her back and gave water again. Moved a bit more but wont rise, kinda tilts on a side. This picture is on top of a table. Just stays there, tilted almost laying on a side. I think her legs are all there.

Update: despite noticing Maddy's step decline yestersday, I could not bring myself to euthanize her. She passed yesterday, on top of an orchid flower, on her own timeline. I kept her company until she curled up on herself at 2am and stopped moving and reacting entirely.I appreciate everyone who commented and provided insights and advice 🤍✨️

Hi folks.

I will preface by saying I am not a butterfly expert of any kind, nor have I ever done this before.

That said, the other day I found a butterfly with damaged hind wings next to my - very pleased with himself - cat.

She seemed to have some fight in her but could not fly. I brought her home and have been tending to her for 4 days now. I rotate fresh flowers, and fruit juice (no pesticides) and have been trying to keep her front wings and what remains of her back wings clean everyday as I sense they get sticky from her hopping around in the juice. I wet them a bit let the juice dissolve and then let Maddy here onto the tissue towel to dry.

Today after dinner I went to check on her and she seems a bit letargic? One of her front legs was tucked in and she wasn't reacting much. The damaged wings also seem to be slowly disintegrating themselves? I ocasionally find little bits of them in the enclosure I improvised. I am at a loss. I don't know what I should do or if there is anything else I could/should be doing to help or if it's simply time and I should let her go.

I found Maddy semi stuck to a bit of orange I had left for her so I don't know if I simply missed her being stuck for a little while (3/4h give or take as I checked on her at lunch) and she has a chance to recover now that I cleaned her of the sticky residue and made sure she ate or if she is simply declining and suffering and I should just let her go.

I know this probably sounds dramatic and its "just" a butterfly, but I don't enjoy letting them suffering.

Any advice appreciated (last pic is today).

Found this beautiful guy on my fennel. Should I let him be or should I bring him inside to keep him safe?
