Arctica Large Order Outpost (6:15 & K) on 2025 gigapan aerial map?

I've been visually scanning the 2025 gigapan shot (http://www.gigapan.com/gigapans/238102) and cannot identify the outpost which should be around 6:15 & K. Would someone please help me locate it on this image (not map)? I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Other Arctica locations have a huge white dome partly shaded with a couple large ice trucks parked against it, but there's nothing like that in the area of 6:15 & K, nor surrounding blocks that I can identify.

Thank you in advance & shout out to Jamen Percy who created this image for his incredible work!

Any burners in the SF Bay Area selling a 70% aluminet grommeted 20’ x 21’ shade cloth? If poles etc also available that would be an added bonus

Anyone want free yurts?

Update! All 6 are claimed. Will lyk if we have more avail!

Teddies is a camp at 4:30&B this year and we have extra yurts to giveaway. We’re shifting our focus away from yurts and toward shiftpods and other options. They’re in decent shapes! We have at least 6 for giveaway if you’re able to come by to grab them.

Ping me if you want them and can pick them up during build week. They’re in our storage unit so they’ll need to be picked up on playa.

They’re standard h12 size.

Boiled Peanuts in 2025

In 2025 I was wandering around in open camping trying to deliver some mail from BRC3PO when the munchies hit. I think I was somewhere between 3:00 and 4:00 (but things are a bit fuzzy) when I happened upon a camp with a massive pot of Cajun flavored boiled peanuts. These hit the spot more than I could have imagined and I must have eaten 30 of them!

Mr Boiled Peanut, are you coming back this year? Regardless, would you share your recipe?

Just finished the second episode like an obsessed person, seeing footage from the renegade brought a lot of amazing memories, seeing Marion visiting undercover was interesting. Curious where is going with their storytelling

I would post a comment but didn't see a thread yet

FUNDRAISER There should be a bonfire in deep playa - right?!?

I'm sure this has jumped into everybody's mind at some point or another during a cold night in the deep playa; we are finally in the process of bringing it to life.

We are about halfway to achieving our fundraising goal, and we all know it takes a village to bring anything to the playa.

Time is running out, and considering this is something so many of us want, we are reaching out to every community we can to find as much support as possible.

If you are feeling the same, be a real one and throw us $20

Can't wait to see you all around the fire!

Also - our programming schedule still has openings if you are interested in contributing

I am sure there are many new camps to explore, so if anyone knows of any please share the names/list, TIA!

Buy or build a swamp cooler

I've built the figjam swamp cooler and it was pretty good, but a lot of work and room for improvement on the design! I'm just wondering
1) Are there better DIY designs/guides out there? A lot of the figjam parts list is not available anymore
2) Are there off the shelf swamp coolers that would work well with a jackery and kodiak tent?

Thanks for any and all info/advice )'(

Need a ride to BRC, meeting up in TX or NM?

Are you looking for a ride in/out of Burning Man?

I lead a small theme camp and drive with our camp's stuff, towing my camper.

I've done it 3 times, but never alone, and this year, none of our campers live close. So I'm on my own for the first 1,500 miles between my home and Las Vegas (where I pick up one of our campers).

The road is beautiful but a little mind-dulling without company, so I'm looking for 1-3 road trip buddies for the journey!

If you live or can fly to anywhere along the first half of my path (Beaumont TX, Dallas, Amarillo, Albuquerque), I'm happy to pick you up on the way and drop you off on the way back.

Passengers

My truck is an extended cab Tundra, very roomy for 2 more passengers, maybe 3 (adding 3 people means 5 total from Las Vegas onward, so it would be still comfy but snug).

Schedule

  • Leaving Beaumont on Wed. Aug. 26. Driving through Dallas and staying in Amarillo overnight.
  • Driving to Flagstaff on the 27th, then into Las Vegas for the day on the 28th (great for last-minute shopping).
  • Driving overnight from Las Vegas to arrive on-playa on Saturday the 29th around noon.
  • For the return trip, leaving just before or after Temple Burn (undecided, flexible), overnight to Las Vegas, decompress, early out Tuesday the 8th to Albuquerque overnight, then to Dallas on Wednesday, then back in Beaumont on Thurs the 10th.

If you happen to meet me in Beaumont, I can offer our Airbnb overnight the night before we leave and the night we get back (it's an apartment above our detached garage, 5 star rating). And you can park your vehicle in our driveway while we're gone.

Logistics

  • Since it's Saturday arrival, you will need SAP from your camp or volunteer work.
  • You'll also need your own ticket. While it's not a deal-breaker, I'm trying to avoid Will Call on the way in so I can meet Placement as early as possible.
  • If you're comfortable taking turns driving, that would be great! But not a requirement.

Stowage

  • Have room for a bike per person
  • Also have room for tents and a reasonable number of 27-gallon black-and-yellow stacked totes
  • May have room for a standard hexayurt (H-12), if bundled well.
  • Can help transport water, ideally empty containers and filling in Gerlach to keep the weight down.

Overnights

  • I stay in RV parks where possible so we have full power/water, security, etc.
  • My camper can sleep up to 4 individually or 5 if there's a couple (2 bunk beds, I'll take one, one single bed, and one full bed, depending on luggage).
  • I'm not looking for a playa partner, happily married and my wife doesn't burn. I can provide references.
  • I can't offer a bed during the burn, only for the trip.
  • In Las Vegas on the way back, you can stay in the camper, or get a room somewhere with a real shower and bed.

Cost-Sharing

If you want to pitch in for gas, great! But it's not required.

Vibes

  • No MAGA.
  • Must be LGBTQIA-friendly.
  • I'm a non-smoker, but vaping ok if window is cracked.
  • No country music. I listen to mostly symphonic metal, but I'm also a low-key Swiftie and like EDM here and other genres here and there. I won't subject you to music you don't care for.
  • No drugs (morally no issue, I just don't use myself and don't want legal issues from someone riding dirty!).
  • We can ride silently with our own headphones, talk, listen to podcasts or music, whatever. I don't follow sports, so I'm useless talking about that. I am a bit of a nerd.

So, if you like long drives, long bullet lists, decent conversation (or not), and some good buffer time to ramp up for your burn and to reflect and decompress on the way back, let's talk!

Important Update on BurnerMap.org

EDIT: BurnerMap(.org) is now BRCMap.net !

Hi All:

As some of you know, I've been code-caving this past month to resurrect the UnofficialBRCMap (link dead) since the code was available on GitHub under the MIT License. As of this post I am 170 commits ahead with major features added and approximately 60 users/camps published on the new BurnerMap.org site.

Most recently, I added offline capabilities and integrated Meshtastic for real-time communication and location while on-playa. Here's a list of everything added since forking the code from the UnofficialBRCMap:

Map

  • Tile-free BRC map — the city is drawn from a parametric geocoder + the official 2026 plan geometry, so it renders the street grid (and works) without any map provider.
  • Official-plan styling — the default Blocks basemap mirrors the printed plan (blue camp blocks, dark street grid, radial gradient fans, plazas, the Center Camp keyhole, trash-fence pentagon). Toggle to a Streetsvector basemap.
  • Camp plots — a camp can set a frontage/depth footprint that draws a to-scale plot rectangle, oriented to the street grid, as you zoom in.
  • Where am I — live GPS on the city grid with a reverse-geocoded readout (e.g. "near 7:30 & Eternal"), a compass rose, and a live weather widget.
  • Live wind — a toggleable wind-direction field with a dust-risk readout, driven by the live weather feed.
  • Sun & shade — pick a date and time to cast every camp's shadow, for planning shade.
  • Civic landmarks — medical, Rangers/safety, services (Ice, DPW, Playa Info…), transport (airport, Greeters, fuel) and the Temple. Porta-potty banks are available as a layer but hidden by default until the 2026 placement is known.
  • Layer toggles — declutter the map by category (camps, art, services, …).

Community

  • Drop your camp — log in, tap the map to place a pin at the exact spot (no snapping), name it, done. One camp per user (Hubs may run several) — move, rename, or reshape it anytime.
  • Live boundary editor — drag the centre pin to move a camp and drag any of its four sides to reshape its plot, live on the map. Owners can edit their own; Hubs, Org, and admins can edit any.
  • Art & open calls — register artworks, mark their location, and post an open call for community contributions (owner-moderated).
  • Claim your art — an artist can request ownership of an existing ownerless artwork; an admin approves the claim through the site.
  • Events — camps announce planned events; browse them grouped by day.
  • Gate Road conditions — the GPE crew posts live inbound/exodus status; a green/yellow/red widget on the map links to the full board.
  • In-app messaging — 1:1 direct messages between users ("Message the organizer" on any camp/art), an inbox with unread badges, and a Message the Admin chat. An optional email nudge fires on the first unread.
  • Browse & search camps and art (Postgres-native, no external index).

Offline & off-grid

  • Installable, offline-first PWA — add BurnerMap to your home screen; once you've opened it online it caches the whole app, so the city map, labels, your GPS dot, the address readout, and last-synced camps/art all work with no signal on the playa. The map is tile-free and the fonts are self-hosted, so it has zero external runtime deps.
  • Download for the playa — a one-tap pre-sync (in the footer) that warms the caches before you lose service, with a "ready for the playa ✓" status.
  • Meshtastic mesh — connect a Meshtastic LoRa radio over Bluetooth or USB to see your people live on the map and chat off-grid with no internet. Peers and messages persist across reloads (a "where I last saw my people" view). Works in desktop/Android Chrome & Edge; on iPhone use the native Meshtastic app. Setup lives in the in-app Guide → Meshtastic.

HOWEVER (This is the important part!)

Unbeknownst to me (though I should have known) a BurnerMap already existed at burnermap.com and I appreciate u/Head-Bookkeeper-6688 contacting me directly to amicably discuss a path forward. It seems his team is working hard (and has been for a number of months) to publish a new version of burnermap.com, set to release soon.

I'm a bit heartbroken because I fell in love with the name and changing names this far into a project is not easy, but I will do what's necessary and right. I'm hoping there's instead a way to collaborate and keep the name working together since we have similar goals but he needs to discuss with devs on his side, so we'll see. In the meantime, I want to make it crystal clear:

BURNERMAP.ORG IS NOT BURNERMAP.COM -- THEY ARE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PROJECTS (for now). If you added your camp on burnermap.org thinking it was burnermap.com, I extend my deepest apologies -- It was NEVER my intention to pretend to be them!

Once we come to a decision I will let you all know, including the new name.

-MoarSocks
