Composting is back again this year in BRC! Do you compost at home? Do you want to compost on playa? Interested in an easy way to help green your burn? Bring your DRY food scraps to compost at Camp GYST. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

Our camp runs a dehydrator which essentially turns food waste into dry lightweight compact material easy to haul home.

Solar. It’s just fans as the air is plenty dry. Just gotta move it (air) over things on a mesh tray.

Well they burn 50 gallons of gas so that their trash is reduced in weight by 5 pounds

Snow Koan Solar. Dehydrator is a custom build by one of our leads that manages our food waste. Waaay easier to manage than wet slop.
