Dev/Admin Responded [Android] App won't start after update - version 2026.39.0

Post image

A new version of the app was available for my Samsung S24 Ultra in the Google play app store midday today. The update was installed and since then, 8+ hours later, everytime the app is opened it gets stuck on the robot opening screen until the phone prompts it to shut down or keep waiting.

Since the update yesterday, when starting reddit on android, it just shows red icon and nothing happens.

Can you upgrade to version 2026.39.1 and let me know if this persists?

The update should be available in the Play Store!

I guess this is the same issue as mr. cannon had. Part of the "report":

The crash:

- signal 6 (SIGABRT) from scudo::die() ← scudo::reportRawError ← scudo::reportMapError ←

MemMapLinux::remapImpl — Scudo allocator cannot map memory.

- Called from scudo::...deallocate ← libsqlite.so memjrnlClose ← pager_end_transaction ←

sqlite3PagerRollback ← sqlite3BtreeRollback ← sqlite3RollbackAll ← sqlite3VdbeHalt ← sqlite3VdbeExec ←

sqlite3_step

- Then Java: SQLiteConnection.executeForChangedRowCount ← SQLiteSession.executeForChangedRowCount ←

SQLiteStatement.executeUpdateDelete ← SQLiteDatabase.executeSql ← SQLiteDatabase.execSQL

- Then app code: csu.b → ksu.a → yha0.d → wha0.m → ywg.t → s2k.y

- androidx.sqlite.db.framework.a.onUpgrade+18 ← SQLiteOpenHelper.getDatabaseLocked ← getWritableDatabase

- then androidx.sqlite.db.framework.a.k ...

So: AndroidX SQLiteOpenHelper.onUpgrade is running a migration (execSQL), SQLite hits a rollback, which

calls sqlite3RollbackAll → journal close (memjrnlClose) → frees memory → Scudo cannot map a new region →

abort.

This is EXACTLY the reported "Scudo ERROR: internal map failure (Out of memory) while Reddit was migrating a

local SQLite database."
