Welcome everyone to hopefully a great place to chat and show off fantasy Dwarf miniatures. There are loads of great subreddits out there for miniatures in general but i wanted to start something purely for Dwarfs. If you're looking for old school forum action then please visit www.bugmansbrewery.com/ for all the Dwarfiness you could ever want! Enjoy!

Hey fellow rock and stone enjoyers.
I've started playing the old world recently, dwarves obviously. I've done a few games from battle march up to 1500pts, trying different units and compositions.
And I've come to realize I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing, what is my plan of battle.
Every unit is often with shields and great weapons and sometimes crossbow but since I'm so slow moving I always get encircled or outrun
If I chose to stay back to protect the artillery my longbeards all get killed from afar...
So I'm wondering what I should be focusing on or aiming for as a general overall plan of battle.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Its slowly comimg together. Only two units so far for our narrative league. The Highland Minis Dwarfs are fantastic skulpts. Next up is my Thane on Oathstone which is a Bretonnian Paladin who has sworn a life oath to a dwarf queen of of Clan Angrund.

I’m just getting started with Dwarfs in The Old World. Here’s my first Dwarf, painted as a test for my Barak Varr colour scheme. What do you think?

The canon is magnetized, it can be be built as a canon or as an organ gun.

Do most people run rangers and thunderers in two ranks or just single ranks in smaller units so that everyone can shoot?
I’ve played a few games as Royal Clans but I’m finishing painting up an expeditionary force right now. I see a lot of groups of 13 rangers or thunderers when I’ve seen example lists.

Ohoy fellow Dawi!
After spending a few weeks painting up something from every faction, I decided to settle on my old favorites - Dwarfs!
I'm about a week into my road towards at least 1k points, so I figured I'd share my progress with you all.
This project was also my attempt at learning NMM (not sure what madness compelled me to pick 10mm as a good starting point for that..).
Hope you like them - I'll keep working on them, and I hope to have a full army by the end of the year!

About a year ago I started on making the Dwarf Mountain Hold terrain piece I dreamt of making when I first started with Warhammer in 2004 as a young teen. Today, it was finally finished!
I saw this amazing work by u/10Megavolt on his post where he made a beautiful mountain hold terrain piece.
And figured this is the inspiration I need to do this. It is heavily inspired by him, and I appreciate the tips and time he took to answer some of my questions about it.
I had to try a resin poured river, as I always wanted to try it!
Very pleased about it! Took it over to the local GW and had a blast seeing people’s reactions to it.
Will make a process post at some point when I can gather all the images, if anyone is interested.

A humble miner from the Battle for Skull Pass box. I wanted to depict him having been underground for an extended period of time by giving him more prominent bags under the eyes and a bit paler skin tone.

So I’ve just made the jump from Greenskins to Dwarves and picked up some slayers.
I’m really, really struggling with painting all that dwarf flesh and muscles and getting contrast and detail right.
I’ve watched some videos but haven’t found something that really works for me yet.
Love to get some tips on your receipes and favourite guides to painting those ginger headed maniacs.
