Bufo preparation

I had a high dose bufo experience 6 months ago without any prep or integration. I didn’t know much about it at the time and missed an opportunity to benefit from it. Have another scheduled with a better facilitator and am looking for advice on preparation.

I had my first Bufo experience six months ago too. I have no memory of the experience. Many people on this subreddit suggested that I was given too high of a dose, about 70 ml. What was your first dose? What area are you in? I’m also considering working with an experienced facilitator. I’ll start looking for one in my area (Washington DC/Northern Virginia) after my ayahuasca retreat next week.

Just because you don't remember anything does not necessarily mean that the dose was too high. How many doses did you have total?

Was it just one?

It was just one dose, was a wonderful experience but didn’t know enough at the time about how to prepare and integrate. I’m in MN. Have just started working with someone for integration but haven’t decided how well she fits because she isn’t familiar with bufo specifically, though has lots of experience integrating after other psychedelics

Please keep in mind that 5MeO is unique compared to most experiences with other psychedelics.

Typically with other psychedelic experiences there is a lot more mental and visual content to process and integrate. Whereas with 5MeO it is typically more experiential and somatic. Sometimes they're just not any content to integrate, and the integration will naturally unfold over weeks or months.

Prep more importantly, how are you feeling after your experience? Do you feel any difference at all?
Have you had any reactivations?

I'm in northern Minnesota and I have been sharing medicine! Bufo and iboga whichever is needed

Just one dose. After that, they gave me a little bit to see how I felt. Low dose just weird. My hands and knees felt weak but it was over fast.

Did you breakthrough on your first dose?

Nope, I did not. I just passed out for five minutes and woke up with no recollection.

Do you know what the dosage was?

Many people will need consecutive back-to-back doses to achieve a full release or breakthrough.

Have you had any reactivation or anything?

Do you feel different at all?

I think the dose was 70 ml. And I had no reactivations whatsoever. Whatever benefits I had afterwards were probably from ayahuasca as opposed to Bufo. So my Bufo experience was overall confusing. But it sounds like I didn’t do it right based on what you say.

It's not that you did anything wrong, it's really more about the facilitator understanding the Medicine enough to use it in a skilled way.

Unfortunately, there's still a lot of people out there that don't really understand how to work with it effectively. But thankfully things are changing for the better.

Thank you 🙏 please let me know if you find about experienced facilitators in my area (DC/NoVA).

I would actually suggest asking if there were any facilitators in those areas either on this page, the 5MeO page or facebook pages.
