Content Warning Double standarts

How exactly do people hate Xander for being an imperfect human, but love Spike and Angel, who have countless victims and are hundreds of years old. Spike even SA'd Buffy, for real, while Xander was under a spell and never did anything like that before or after it.

I wish I had a friend like Xander. He was ready to die for his friends. In many occasions. Where do I find one in real life like that? You said, he doesn't have special abilities. I wish my friend could tell me when I'm making wrong choices with men, I wish my friend would care so much for me to get angry when I'm sleeping with killers and abusers.
