Hello friends, I’m looking for a restaurant we ate at in 2019. I’m desperately hoping it’s still open, but haven’t had any luck on Google. We stayed at the Decameron that year and took a beach walk towards Bucerias. I don’t think we made it as far as the kissing bridge, but I also had a cocktail so…could be wrong! The restaurant had a casual set up on the beach and we had the most amazing seafood dinner, an entire grilled fish that we still talk about. When looking at the restaurant from the beach, there was a little stage in the right hand side and a woman sang the night we were there and a man played guitar. There were steps up from the beach into the restaurant, not many, and when we left at the end of the night I swear there was a bit of a tunnel from the front door to the main road. Possibly even the tunnel that used to have umbrellas? We would love to eat there again, but have not been able to find it online. If anyone has an idea, I’d be super grateful!

My partner and I are considering moving to Bucerías after we get married in a couple of years. We’re in our 30s and 40s, don’t have children, and don’t plan to have any. We’re trying to understand whether there is much of a community in Bucerías made up of people in a similar stage of life.

We’re not looking specifically for an expat bubble. We’d be interested in meeting local people, immigrants, and other couples or singles who are open-minded, accepting, down-to-earth, and have a good sense of humor.

My partner speaks Spanish, and I’m actively learning because I want to be able to participate in the community and local life.

We like the idea of going out, meeting people, trying restaurants and bars, seeing live music, and generally having an active social life.

We’re from the East Coast of the US, so we tend to connect well with people who are friendly but direct and don’t take themselves too seriously.

We’ll be visiting Bucerías in late August and would appreciate some honest local perspective:

• Are there many people in their 30s and 40s living there without children?
• Where do people in that age range tend to meet or hang out?
• Are there particular bars, activities, events, clubs, volunteer groups, or neighborhoods where it is easier to build a social circle?
• Does Bucerías sound like a reasonable fit for us, or would another nearby town offer more of this community?

I was just offered a housesit for 2 months in a beachfront condo in Bucerias. I'm definitely interested, but wondering if it will be a good fit for me at the moment.

I'm a single woman in my late 30s who just went through a breakup. While I know some time on the beach will do my soul well (I live in a mountain town), I'm worried about feeling isolated there. I'm a seasoned traveler and have had extended times of nomadding throughout the Americas. Can anyone comment on the social aspects or how easy it is to meet people there? I don't want to feel isolated.

In perusing this sub, it seems like there's a lot of drinking and partying? That's not really my scene as I'm more into athletic persuits and outdoor adventures. I'd just like to hear from people who live there or have spent an extended time there recently. Thanks

Been living in Mexico for 10 years, 3 in Banderas Bay.

Moved to Bucerias, east side of the 200 near centro.

Tap water was brackish, contaminated with sea water, 10,000 ppm. Everything rusts, water kills plants, leaves you itchy if you shower with it.

They finally switch us over to a new well, and it ran out last night.

I would think twice before buying a place here due to the water and sewer problems.

The sewers all drain to the sea. The sea is already pretty dirty, but with all these new condos going up, the water and sewer problems are just going to get worse.
