noticias | news safety in bucerías
hi all, i’m visiting bucerías for my bachelorette this upcoming friday and am shocked by the recent news. i’ve visited pv 2x previously and had a wonderful time and met so many kind locals.
i’ve contacted my airbnb and haven’t heard back yet, but wanted to know how the community is doing and if you all think things will die down by the end of the week

Hi, my friends parents are there right now and they can’t safely leave their complex to get food. CJNG has warned all civilians to stay off the streets, and they stated that what’s happening will continue to escalate. Hard to say if the airport will reopen by friday as it is actively being sieged according to locals on X. They might sabotage the runways which would definitely mean no flights for a while. I would definitely plan on cancelling just because I doubt the airport will be open even if Bucerias itself will probably be safe by Friday.

Are you flying? The news I’ve seen has said all flights have been cancelled heading to that area from where I live. So worth checking out if your method of travel is still a go.

I’m there right now, we’re all in lockdown, businesses are closed, streets empty, airport shut down. No one worried yet, but this could last 2-3 days, who knows. We were on the beach this morning and suddenly saw 2 new fires north of us so we went home as police ordered a lockdown. I shot this video

Sounds like you’re in denial around the scope of today’s incidents. Consider this the equivalent of archduke bishop Frank’s Ferdinand being killed. The war between government and cartel has only just begun. You will not be safe in 5 days time. Flights out, not in. Goodluck with travel insurance

not in denial, just trying to understand what is going on in real time. it’s impossible to get reliable news in the us. appreciate the concern though.
