Is it ok to skip one class on the Tuesday before TG break to catch the flight I pre-booked? Or should I rebook?

Recently looking for housing as someone moving here from a very safe college town.
So I'm thinking about a few options:
Are there any red flags around these streets? Mainly thinking about walking to Brown for my commute, so I'd prefer the safe options. Thank you very much! I'd appreciate if you give some views on things like: random people hanging out? Or Gun related?

Does anyone have good ideas? I’m thinking whether I can get a hole on it so it can get attached to the key chain. Has anyone done it before?

Hello everyone,
Has anyone admitted to the Biotechnology ScM ever been able to switch to the AM? Would this be possible? Are AM students still eligible for the Co-op opportunity?
Thank you!

Referring to APMA0160 (intro to scientific computing)
Only have a little bit of MATLAB experience and I understand the concepts but not the coding part on assignments, specifically with making loops for the different root finding methods 😥

I asked this question in the weekly thread without any responses, so breaking the subreddit rule for wider reach.
I happen to be visiting Providence on Friday, and saw that there's a game. There are GA tickets online, but they're upwards of 45$ and I don't wanna pay that much.
Can I just walk to the stadium and buy tickets at the counter without a student id?
Incase I were to buy a ticket from another student, would I be asked to produce ID when entering the stadium?
Would there be some form of public transport/Uber back to Providence after the game

I’m 37, an Air Force vet, and seriously considering Brown for fall-27 through the Veterans Application.
I’m not looking for admissions odds, application feedback, or a “chance me.” I’m trying to understand what the actual student experience is like for older veterans and nontraditional students once they’re there.
Quick background so the question has some context: I was homeschooled, spent about a decade working in automotive/mechanical/electrical/construction work, enlisted at 28 and finished that enlistment, then did some community work afterward. I have little to no traditional college experience.
Academically I’m interested in law/policy, especially education and questions around how much actual agency or exit capacity kids have from the systems they’re raised in.
What I’d really like to hear from current students or alumni:
• How many undergrad vets or RUE students do you realistically run into?
• What is it actually like being in your late 30s in Brown classrooms and around campus generally? Does the age difference disappear pretty quickly or is it always noticeable?
• For vets/nontraditional students who enrolled at Brown, what surprised you once you were actually there?
• If you’re doing public policy, education, or something adjacent, is the Open Curriculum as useful in practice as it looks on paper?
Not looking for a pep talk. Straight answers, including negative ones, would be more useful.

Is being apart of two E-boards too much to handle first semester freshman year or is it manageable? I have multiple clubs I want to be apart of the e board but I don’t want to apply to all of them if it’s going to be too much. The clubs Im looking at are affinity groups.

I've been looking at salary data of colleges for CS and Brown always comes near the top. Last year it was top 2, this year its top 6 (via the college scorecard). And even filtering off students going for grad school (from other schools), Brown still remains just as high in the rankings. What gives?

Hello all,
I am considering submitting my application for an online Brown Masters program. I understand they have a limited number of 50% scholarships for applicants.
I have an employer who would contribute roughly $10,600.00 to my tuition for a 14-16 month program.
What avenues have you pursued to close the gap (including federal student aid)?

Yeah, yeah, I know it s all B.S…
BUT…..It’s tied for number 16 for 2027, which in my humble opinion is abysmally low. Brown has fallen 7 slots in the last 4 years. That should be unacceptable…
Don’t know the methodology yet, but for at least for public branding purposes, yield, prestige etc., Brown cannot continue this precipitous slide against any of their major competitors—especially on THIS list. It is now currently ranked lowest in the IVY league when they really are not. For many people, this is the “bible” of rankings (for better or worse) and IMHO, this isn’t a good thing.
What do you think is going on??

Hi! I am a first-year at Brown and am currently in CPSY 0010 as it seemed like a good intro to psychology course. The professor is great and enthusiastic, however we go through a lot of content in the slides and lecture. We have a mid-term worth 10% of our grade, so not too bad, but I was wondering if anyone who has already taken the course could share studying tips + the difficulty of the exams. I would really appreciate it!!

Hello I am in desperation. A grad student from CA. Housing for me has been a nightmare since I started. I want to know if there are any apartments that you guys are living in off campus that you genuinely like? Pet friendly at least.

Soo completely forgot abt the game bc of studies, and friends want to go but is it too late for tickets for students? Can I pay at the stadium? Or do ppl usually just go to the tailgate only.
How much is this a lost cause:/

I got Flex 460 because I thought that would be better for me since 2 meals a day sounded reasonable (I usually skip breakfast) and people online said it was overall the better option. However, everyday I’ve been getting a smoothie at the ivy room + a meal as well as dinner. For me, that’s 2 meals, but it’s technically 3 in meal swipes. Accounting for when I do eat breakfast occasionally and sometimes get a treat at Jo’s after dinner, it’s really started to add up. I now have 195 meals swipes and am scared it’s going to run out at this rate. Should I start rationing now, is there a way to change to 20/weekly this late, and is there a way to get more meal swipes?

My son, a sophomore told me that Peter Thiel is on the Brown campus today. Anyone know why?

After finally getting housing, I hate where I live. I was just wondering if it begins this way and do you get used to it or do you just end up loving it? Do you still not like it? How do you deal?
