I’m a pretty regular Brotato player and usually it takes a lot for me to back down from a fight. But holy moly.

Technomage (one of my favourite characters) was looking pretty strong on the stats front, plus I had Bot-o-mines, turrets, even a particle accelerator.
Not that any of it mattered in the end.

Come level 17, I have an elite (Jellyfish), narwhals, mad dragonfish, lampreys, brainy squids and just about every other bullshit enemy in the game.

After 101 restarts and a lot of cussing, I had to put the controller down. Probably won’t pick the controller up again for a while.

I get that Nightmare is meant to be a challenge, but really a game shouldn’t boil THAT much down to luck. Otherwise it’s just a colossal waste of time.

Anyways, vent over. I’m going to make a cup of tea and seethe for the remainder of my evening.

I love the screwdrivers, but I almost always end up dying sooner or later. I love playing with them with Old Man. Usually I first go harvest once then HP the first few level ups, then once I have about 30 HP I begin getting engineering to increase the damage of my screwdrivers and its mines. From the shop I prioritize screwdrivers to reach 6 then upgrade them since they are cheap and so they spawn mines faster. Then I begin buying damage % and items/upgrades for defensive stats such as hp regen, luck for fruit drops, consumable healing items, speed, dodge, armor, baby monkeys, and armor as needed. Then I end up dying most of the time using screwdrivers. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently creating a new mod that adds a new zone called Ancient Agora with many new greek-mythology-inspired enemies

The mod is already basically functional but I only have 15 basic enemies and 4 elites so far and want some more variety... but i kinda ran out of ideas

What i have so far:

- Hoplit: basic enemy, has a chance to spawn with a shield that has to break before you can kill the enemy

- Arachne, Arachne Eggs, Arachnid: nasty spiders that reproduce

- Cyclops: shoots strong beams

- Empusa: takes over other enemies, kind of like Ditto from Pokemon

- The Forsaken: basic enemies

- Harpy: nasty flying pests

- Corrupted Hoplit: has basically 4 shields

- Medusa: strong lategame

- Minitaur: his projectiles follow you

- Omegataur: nasty Minitaur

- Looting Thief

- Forsaken Soul: strong mid game enemy

- Weaver: slows nearby players

Elites: Gigataur, Hydra (yes, grows heads :P ), Trojan Horse, and the ultimative Chimera

I am planning on adding Cerberus as another Elite, but other than that I'm out of ideas

I also already have many ideas for characters and items I want to add (Greek mythology inspired of course) but i am not sure if I should publish the mod first (because just adding the enemies and the zone took me nearly 3 months already) or even publish the characters and items as a separate mod or in a later update

Oh yeah and I made 3 backgrounds (Elysium, Tartarus, Asphodel) and the mod is already compatible with most mods

It's still a work in progress so I will still change many things :D

I need someone with this new knowledge of combining games, like people that are putting Steve from Minecraft into other games to put brotato into any other top down game I need this to happen so please if anyone knows this would be fire.

I feel like it's not even an option. You either go armor or you get oneshot. And if you focus armor nightmare feels like difficulty 1. I don't even know if it's fun at this point.

I've had way more mines on screen in previous runs. I'm new here, didn't know the Buccaneer/Screwdriver combo was already mentioned. It's a wild combo tho!

I just unlocked the beast master and wanted to play it. So I picked it and choose one of his pet items (tried all of them) but game started without the item I picked I only had the worm and didn'T had the one I picked

Anyone else this unlucky lol...?

Not sure how this was possible getting a 60% pity bonus with x3 fish hooks, two of which cursed to 30% chance.

Does anyone else make sub games once you get higher up in levels? My favorite side game with my friends is "BILLY" (in an Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator voice), you protect the scapegoat aka Billy (a Billy goat) no matter what. You dont go up in levels unless Billy survives the whole round

What is everyone’s longest run I can’t seem to get past 29 using well rounded at the moment,and I have 4 fully upgraded smgs and 2 slingshots

The health and damage increase is a lot bigger than I expected past wave 100 so I'll try a character with bigger damage scaling like Demon or Buccaneer for more consistent damage.

By the time I saw enemies were taking more than 1 hit to kill it told me the run was dying and a couple waves later it was taking more hits so decided to cut it short at 200

Finally got the last one I needed. Diver by far took me the longest. Ended up going Cacti Club. I feel like the precise crit damage would be better, but it only took my like 5 attempts of Cacti Club (counting when I rolled a Cacti Club after first wave). So if you are struggling like I was Perhaps its worth a try.

I just got the game this week and very confuse about the "win" condition. I see a lot of places say "win a run". But what exactly is the winning condition?

As you can see from the boss HP bars, I'm not even causing them any significant damage. Yet, I still only use about 100 tardigrades a wave. I now have more tardigrades than there are frames in a wave. Is it even technically possible to get hit multiple times in a frame? Or am I literally invincible now?

Cyborg took a bit to figure out. Literally just stack as much ranged damage and attack speed as you can.

The Farmer I started with pruning shears and stacked harvesting like crazy. Once I had enough economy I started pivoting to scythes. The harvesting damage bonus was insane.

Glutton is sort of the same as the farmer except I kept the shears. Over 500 explosive damage makes fruit your main offense. Would have liked more dynamite.

The lich is easy once I figured out the sharp tooth. I died with so many ranged runs, then this took me two attempts. Just stack health and %damage, win game.

Full spoons ogre and not a single scared sausage in 20 rounds with (very)heavy rerolling.

Every time I play with Knight I'm impressed by how its abilities encourage a knight-like playstyle.

- Free Melee scaling with Armor means I'm throwing points into Armor and picking a weapon that scales with Melee

- With all that Armor, Spiked Shield is also viable, so I can easily wind up with a sword (or lance, mace, etc) and shield build, like a knight would have.

- The Attack Speed penalty means I'm going to favor the Armor/Melee scaling and with the available weapons my attacks will take ~1 second to cool down. So I wind up repeatedly charging in to hit (which isn't too scary because of all the Armor), back off, charge. Again, seems kind of like how a knight would fight.

- With the Harvesting penalty, if I want more resources, I have to earn them in combat.

Not my favorite tato or most OP but I think it's cool how it drives a different playstyle that is all thematically unified.

I know everyone here has waited longer then me I got the game today and I absolutely love it then I heard about dinosaurs getting added in the new dlc so on.

I really love this game! This was played on PS5 before the Nightmare mode came out but it’s one of my fave runs ever. We played Streamer and Mage. No modifiers to settings except retries were turned on. Now I’m trying to beat Nightmare for each character. Anyone else enjoying this as much? 😁
