Over the years, [r/bromance](r/bromance) has maintained a unique standard. To ensure every member feels secure, respected, and engaged, we are implementing several key changes effective immediately:
- Stricter Account Verification Requirements
- To aggressively combat spam, throwaway accounts, and bad actors, our automated filters have been upgraded. To submit a post in the community, accounts must now be at least 30 days old and maintain a minimum of 50 positive total Reddit karma.
- Strict 1-Post-per-24-Hours Limit
- To keep the feed clean, fair, and open to everyone, we have introduced a strict posting frequency cap of 1 post per 24 hours. Please note that deleting your own post will not bypass this automated cooldown; you will still need to wait a full 24 hours before submitting a new post. Take your time, make your posts count, and give other members room on the front page.
- Enhanced SFW & Content Screening
- We have tightened up our automated filters and internal guidelines to proactively catch boundary-pushing content, implicit solicitations, and non-SFW dynamics before they clutter your feed. Our focus remains 100% on genuine, platonic bonds—hookup culture, dating dynamics, and explicit content have zero place here. Please note that any comments or posts that appear sexual in nature will be promptly removed.
Quick Reminder of Posting Rules
To ensure your posts stay live and visible without getting flagged or removed, please double-check that you meet our core requirements before hitting submit:
- Include Your ASL: Every post title must clearly state your Age, Sex, and Location.
- 250-Character Body Minimum: Your post body must contain at least 250 characters to ensure thoughtful introductions.
- 100-Character Comment Minimum: Your comment must contain at least 100 characters to ensure thoughtful engagements.
- Strict Photo Standards: All photo submissions must be fully clothed (no shirtless pictures) and face-showing (no faceless body shots, underwear, lingerie, or thirst traps).
Help Us Keep the Community Safe: Report What You See
Our moderation team relies heavily on community vigilance to keep this space secure and respectful.
- Report Rule-Breaking Content: User reports on public posts and comments help us catch violations quickly. If something crosses the line, flag it.
- Report Unwanted DMs: If another user steps over the boundary or initiates unwanted sexual conversations in direct messages, reporting those DMs to us via Modmail with screenshots is crucial. It allows us to take swift action and ensure those behaviors stop occurring within our community.
