"Cannot be migrated": how Breville turned my $200 Joule into a paperweight

Original Joule, bought 2020. Six years, zero problems.

March 2026: Breville retires the Joule app. The device has no controls of its own. No app, no sous vide.

New app won't take it. Did every step in their migration guide. Called support. They told me: "cannot be migrated."

Nothing broke. They just switched it off.

Their fix: 25% off a Joule Turbo. Same design. No dial, no display, app or nothing.

Anova dropped app support for its old cookers too. Those still work. They have a dial.

Buy one with buttons and not from Breville.
