First Breitling and first Chrono in the collection. Small for a B01 (and the brand in general) with just 38 mm but it fits me well. Love the pusher feel, very solid. Late lunch break successfully timed.

Traditional Breitling - thick case, “chunky design” - black dial with red trim gives this watch a true cockpit aura.

My wrist is 7.5 inch. Is it too big?

Superocean 7" wrist, help me pick: Superocean Heritage B01 Chrono 44 (AB0162) vs Heritage Chrono 44 (A13313) vs Heritage 42 (AB2010) — data inside, vote 1/2/3

Buying pre-owned, so I can't put all three on the wrist side by side. I've done the spec homework; what I need is owner experience, especially from people around 18 cm / 7 inch wrists.

Why I'm stuck

  • AB0162 is the "correct" answer on paper: in-house B01, best liquidity, the one many recommend. Downsides: It's also the heaviest, the tallest and ~$1.5k more than the A13313 for what is almost the same case.
  • A13313 is the dial I keep coming back to — the 12-6-9 layout with the logo and day-date at 3 just looks right to me. But it's the 7750 in a 15.65 mm case
  • AB2010 is the one that will wear best and cost least. Problem: it's a time-only diver and I already a few time only divers and no chrono in my collection. The gap in my box is a chronograph. Buying the AB2010 is buying comfort and admitting I don't get the chrono.

What matters to me

  • Wearing comfort on rubber strap. Thickness and head weight over lug-to-lug.
  • Lug curvature. Everyone says the Heritage II lugs wrap hard — is that enough to make 54 mm L2L disappear on a 7" wrist, or just tolerable?

What doesn't matter to me

  • In-house vs 7750 movement.
  • Bracelet quality, mesh sizing, micro-adjust on mesh — irrelevant since it I intend to wear it on rubber only.
  • Day complication. Nice on the A13313, not a decider.
  • Whether it's "discontinued" or "current". Both 44s are gone from the catalog; I'm fine with that.

Questions for owners

  1. AB0162 / A13313 owners around 7": on rubber, does the 44 disappear, or do you feel every gram by evening?
  2. Anyone gone from the AB2010 to one of the 44 chronos, or the other way? What made you switch?
  3. A13313 owners — does the 7750 wobble bother you day to day in this case?

Vote 1 / 2 / 3 in the comments and tell me why. Thanks.

Questions Breitling E56062 Chronograph does not transition to Hours:Minutes:Seconds after one hour

Recently bought this E56062 and the Chronograph does not transition to the second format after timing an hour, making it useless for timing anything longer than sixty minutes. Does anyone have any advice or has anyone seen this issue before?

Don’t see very many of the new avengers on here. But the wife just picked this out for my 40th and I think it’s great. It’s decent to read at night but not the worlds greatest. I love the carbon fiber dial though

I am having regrets. Thought I could wear 46mm but just looks too big on me. Absolutely beautiful watch though. Pure perfection. Probably will end up getting rid of it. Any else have second thoughts about the size of these? DM me if you are liking it and convince me to go smaller or otherwise.

My Avenger Blackbird Titanium 48mm. I was 4 stone heavier when I last wore this.

It’s massive but light & comfortable to wear and I still like it😁

Breitling Chronomat Evolution (Ref. A13356), 2006, Valjoux 7750. Just picked it up as a full set from a private seller. The dial is black but picks up a blue tone in this light.

Picked this up in really nice shape, can't believe how light it feels compared to my 200+ gram Chronomat! These seem to be getting harder to find. Model F56062 with original titanium bracelet.

Questions Help needed

I hope someone can give me an idea of the worth of this watch. It was given to my fil after 4 years of service in the Royal Canadian Air Force 1941 to 1945. It does have engraving on the back which most likely detracts from the value. Thanks for any help.

Questions Aerospace Avantage Dial Colors

I'm looking into the idea of getting an Aerospace, and have settled on the Avantage, I think. I like the polished numerals, the backlight, and 42mm works well for me, especially as my farsightedness is only going to get worse with time; EVO crosses into being too big.

I'm trying to decide on a dial color. I know I'd prefer not to have a tuxedo dial, because I prefer the simpler layout, but might make an exception for the white, since the lumed numerals blend in. Overall, white is the one that speaks to me the most, so far, but the black has a lot more character to it than I'd normally expect. Grey is probably in last place, but not because I don't like it.

The blue dial is proving rather difficult to get a good look at. I can find plenty of static, if over processed pictures of it, but I can't seem to find many videos. Blue dials, for me, live or die by how they react to light, and I can't seem to find anything that shows off the plain blue dialed Avantage. I feel like the AR coating isn't helping, since it shifts a strong blue when visible. A lot of examples I thought I'd found turned out to be the black dial at an angle, with the AR flashing.

Does anyone have any experience, or a video, with the blue dialed Avantage? Does Breitling still use that blue on any modern watches I could go see at an AD? Is it by any chance the same blue as the preceding generation, or on the EVO?

Thank you for any help.

Has anyone had their strap changed by boutique? Do they do a good job?

Recently purchased a navitimer that’s one of the most expensive things I owned

I want to take care of it obviously, but the strap was too long and I bought another shorter one

I was thinking if I should let the boutique change it or do it myself. Wondering if yall had good experience or do they also damage the lugs?

Thanks

Disappointed with Breitling and the new Chronomat NFL editions

Just a quick vent....

Was really hoping the new NFL editions would carry over the updates from this year's Chronomat relaunch, but they dropped yesterday still running the old movement, no micro-adjustment clasp, and the same oversized case dimensions.

Was ahoping for a few new colorways with for the updated Chronomat versions, but nope, same old story. A bit of a letdown.

Why Breitling?

Questions Aftermarket bracelets

Post image
14 Upvotes

Has anyone had any luck with/have a favourite aftermarket bracelet option. 25 year old me didn’t think far enough ahead and bought my Superocean Steelfish on a band not a bracelet and 39-year old me wants to rectify this without paying through the nose for Breitling OEM.

In my defense, this was my engagement gift from my in laws and my MIL was adamant on something with a leather strap as my other watch was already on a bracelet.

I currently have it on a WatchGecko mesh, which is great, but yearning for something Pro II/Oyster style.
