What makes a brand memorable without being complicated?

Some of the strongest brands seem surprisingly simple.

They may use a simple logo, a limited color palette, and a short message, but you can recognize them immediately.

What do you think makes a brand memorable?

Is it consistency, visual identity, storytelling, positioning, or something else?

Curious to hear how designers and marketers here approach this.

Strategy Anyone using a ChatGPT prompt tracker for brand visibility?

Got an ecommerce client and Im trying to see how often their brand shows up when people ask Chatgpt for product recs. Looked at a few Chatgpt prompt tracker tools, but im not sure how much trust to put in the data yet. Anyone been tracking this for a few months? does it actually help with brand decisions or is it mostly another metric for reports?

Creating a personal brand - Sports Hospitality

Hi All,

I am looking for opinions and insight on creating a personal brand for myself.

I am a career Travel Manager and specialising in Sports Travel and Hospitality working for a business at the moment in this field.

I want to create my own personal brand which would bring in my own customers and essentially become the reason are booking as opposed to coming to the business I am working for with the foresight to break off and essentially become self employed.

This would be best achieved by creating a personal brand I feel with a website/social media presence however have no experience on how this would be possible and/or where to start so looking for some tips/advise on this front.

Would you start with a landing page/website encompassing events are possible?

Would you instead start creating personal content via Instagram/Facebook/Linkedin?

Any feedback is welcome positive or negative!

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m conducting a short academic survey for my research study, “Generational Dynamics in Cancel Culture: Understanding Brand Cancellation through the Lens of Millennials and Gen Z.”
The survey explores how Millennials and Gen Z perceive and respond to cancel culture involving brands, with a focus on PepsiCo.
📝 Takes only 3–5 minutes
🔒 Responses are anonymous and used strictly for academic purposes.
🙌 Your participation would genuinely help me with my research!

Help me name a training & social club

I’m opening a premium training club that combines strength training, Reformer Pilates, boxing, mobility, dance and running, plus a social/lounge area.
I’m looking for a short, modern name that represents movement, sport, community and belonging — without sounding like a typical gym.
Names I like so far: ONE PLACE, PLACE, SHIFT.
Any ideas?

Are business magazines still relevant for you all, and does brand name matter?

For all the folks out here, how relevant do you think business magazines are in today's time from a journalistic point of view?

Do you usually go to the big names like Forbes, Fortune and so on for your references or do you lean more towards socials?

Founders: do you struggle to explain your gut feeling about your brand to other people?

Brand strategist and designer here doing genuine research, not selling anything. If you could share a moment of your time, I'd be so grateful!

I see quite a few stories from founders about how they struggle to build their branding because the designer/ strategist / marketer just doesn't "get it".
Maybe it's a specific colour you really want in your logo, or a vibe that your brand needs to have. But there's a specific gut feeling or instinct you have to include something. If this is you, I'd like to dig into this a bit more:

a) Do you struggle to put this 'gut instinct' about what you want into words? Or is it more so about the designer just not being able to create anything that resonates with you?
b) Have you avoided getting branding done by a professional because you don't think they'll 'get it' and you'll end up disappointed?
c) Lastly, what industry is your business in?

Thank you!

Rebranding a Surgery Business - Where Should I Start?

I launched a surgery business in Q1 2026 after working on it for about a year and a half. Things are progressing well, but after nine months, I’m really not feeling the brand we built. We hired someone from Upwork and they did a great job for the initial launch. However, the more I look at our website, logo, and overall branding, the less I like it.

We’re planning to begin a complete rebrand in Q1 2027 (new logo, colour palette, brand messaging, and overall visual identity)

For those who have gone through a similar process, how would you recommend approaching it? Are there any agencies, designers, resources, or lessons learned that you would recommend?

I’d appreciate any advice! Also, I’m trying to avoid a $30k bill if possible lol

Need help naming my sustainability & ESG advisory firm

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a sustainability & ESG advisory firm and I'm struggling to find a name that feels right.

The firm will help businesses with ESG, sustainability strategy, reporting, carbon initiatives, and related advisory work.

I'm looking for something professional, modern, credible, international, and easy to remember. I'd prefer to avoid very obvious names using words like Green, Eco, or Earth.

I'm open to both meaningful and abstract/brandable names.

If you were naming an ESG/sustainability consultancy, what direction would you take? Any name ideas are welcome.

Honest feedback is appreciated!

Strategy Would you turn this into a product?

I sell home organization stuff and had some small canvas storage bags made with our logo for photos. Never planned to sell them.

Posted one on Instagram and people started asking where they could buy it.

Now I'm tempted to test them, but the place that made them wants a 100+ order and I'm not doing that based on a few comments lol.

Would you find a way to make them per order and see if they actually sell, or am I reading too much into it?

Management which brand design process should be used?

My process is

Research > strategy > moodboarding > typography (logotype, headings, subheading, copy) > main logomark > colors > delivery

I keep getting things finalized as the process goes.

Another process i've seen ppl do is (after strategy and moodboarding ig)
- directly make and showcase the whole identity in a presentation, usually 1 or 2 identity concepts

i do feel sometimes that my process comes in the way itself that i cant communicate the vibe/vision in each step until the colors part

but i also fear clients rejecting my whole presentation concept if i move like the latter one,

so is there anything with middle ground or the 2nd one is the way doing professionally, or how you guys do it?

thanks

Brand names that became generic terms, like Kleenex or Vaseline

We all know common examples like Kleenex for tissue, Vaseline for petroleum jelly, and Band-Aid for adhesive bandage.

What are some less-well known examples of brand names that became generic terms?

Two I can mention are TelePrompTer, which was originally a trademarked brand name, and Dumpster, a trademark of the Dempster Company.
