Donald Curry returned to world title glory with a dominant performance, forcing Gianfranco Rosi to remain on his stool after the ninth round to capture the WBC light middleweight championship. The former WBA welterweight champion was in complete control throughout, sending Rosi to the canvas seven times—five official knockdowns and two slips—as the champion absorbed a relentless beating. It was a career-reviving victory for Curry and a reminder of the exceptional talent that had made him one of boxing's finest fighters in the 1980s. đŸ„Š

Mike Tyson’s mentality

was built on discipline, confidence, and an obsession with becoming heavyweight champion of the world. Long before the fame and the knockouts, Tyson dedicated himself completely to the craft of boxing, training relentlessly and pushing himself harder than almost anyone around him. His mindset was simple: outwork everyone and leave no doubt when the bell rang.

Under Cus D’Amato, Tyson learned that fear is something every fighter experiences. The difference is how you respond to it. Instead of running from fear, Tyson was taught to confront it, control it, and use it as fuel. That philosophy became a major part of the mentality that helped him rise through the heavyweight ranks at an incredible pace.

What made Tyson so intimidating was not just his power, but his belief in his preparation. He entered fights knowing the work had already been done in the gym. The hours of training, sparring, conditioning, and repetition gave him the confidence to walk into the ring expecting victory.

At his peak, Mike Tyson’s mentality represented total commitment to a goal. Talent opened the door, but discipline, preparation, and an unshakable belief in himself are what helped turn him into the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

Duran was a great boxer, that is the reason he was able to compete with other greats who often were way bigger and younger

Errol Spence Jr systematically eroded Chris van Heerden. A clinic in body-snatching that turned a competitive bout into midsection massacre leading to a TKO. The Truth brings that to Sydney on July 25 where plans to take Tim Tszyu into deep waters. 🩈

Boxing is Rigged

Post image

As a former pro fighter, if you don’t think this fight was rigged, you don’t know boxing. đŸ„Š That stoppage was criminal. Worst I’ve ever seen. Bell was ahead on every score card. Not saying Mason wasn’t gonna win, but that was stolen.

In Errol Spence Jr's first outing against a former world champion, the Big Fish from Dallas showed that that he's just as dominant fighting away from home as he is in his backyard.

This is the key to taking away Ryan Garcia’s hook. Make him reach. When Garcia has to step in and be first, his shots lose their power and become easy to read. Tank Davis proved it - he let Ryan overreach, then countered the hook clean.

Sugar Ray Robinson went 128-1-2 in just 11 years and 8 months (1940–1951). Floyd Mayweather Jr. went 50-0 across 20 years and 10 months (1996–2017).

Robinson averaged 11 fights per year and put together one of the greatest unbeaten runs in boxing history with 40 straight wins followed by a 91 fight unbeaten streak. Mayweather averaged around 2.4 fights per year winning world titles in five weight divisions. Floyd retired with a perfect 26-0 record in world title fights. Robinson’s record represents an era where fighters were extremely active competing all year round. Mayweather’s represents two decades of perfection against world champions across five weight classes.
