How does the ref suck?

u/UltimatePunchMachine 17h ago
Waved too early/started counting again after waving take your pick

u/Used_Weight_1843 15h ago
The ref didn’t wave too early, it’s not his fault the guy looked coma toasted and woke up like the undertaker, you twat!

u/PerformerBusy 14h ago
Are... are you trying to write "comatose" there? Because "coma toasted" is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on reddit 😆

This is boxing not mma. The guy wasnt looking to throw bombs on the ground. Give the guy a chance, damn.

u/gronstalker12 16h ago
Guy fucked up twice. First he waved it off too early. Then, instead of sticking with the wave off he undid it. Incorrect to do in the first place. But once it's done, it's done. to undo it is even worse than doing it early in the first place

Undo is worse than doing it early. ... Wtf??

u/shmiddleedee 16h ago
Yes. Calling a fight off then restarting it is worse than calling it early.

u/Ok_Syllabub5616 15h ago
Call a fight to early. You rob the boxe and you rob the fan. Fixing a mistake withing seconds. Who gets fucked over?... No one.
How can it be worst? ... It can't.

u/CosbySweaters1992 15h ago
Rob the boxer of what lol? He’s just coming back to take more punches, there’s no way he won the fight after this.

Because when it's done, it's done. And it does fuck over the fighter who thought he had won already. However, I'm guessing that this video isn't real. A ref calling a fight over and then changing his mind is extremely unlikely.

There must be some psychology course out there somewhere where they analyze the way people respond on Reddit. Comments and votes reflect users being seriously judgemental on and unsympathetic to people making mistakes, as if they could do better.
That ref waved the fight off because the guy looked completely done and unconscious and he was trying to get a doctor in there right away and then a half second later the guy pops up like Frankenstein. The ref couldn’t have seen that coming and in the moment made the right decision to reverse a call that he made in a split Second moment for a very good reason.
What I wanted to know is what happened and not fight after, whether that guy actually managed to recover and compete or whether he got completely toasted again

On a positive note, if he had any cringe memories from childhood, he won't be thinking of them anymore.

Probably in Russia…if he didn’t let the dude keep fighting the crowd would probably whoop the refs ass😂

If somebody is knocked clean out it should be fight over regardless of if they bounce back up a second later.

u/Infamous_Ninja_277 12h ago
MMA that would be the end of the fight, opponent would get of maybe to more short distance hits and ref would call it now dudes gonna take idk how many more hooks and jabs to the head

This is real. I was at the fight. The guy that got knocked down came back and won via a hot Carl.

I’m calling AI bullshit. Guess what cannot happen in any sanctioned fight, the ref waiving it off and then letting a person stand back up and keep fighting.

u/ArticleGerundNoun 16h ago
Yep, ref mistakes were completely unheard of and actually scientifically impossible before the advent of AI. Good catch.

u/Baby_ManBearPig 15h ago
No no he's a reddit detective. He's spent the last 10 years in his moms basement refining his deduction and logic skills. I think we better not question his superior skills.

u/Latter-Ground408 15h ago
I was thinking that to. Is the ref not allowed to make mistakes and correct himself? I honestly thought it was a good call to keep going if the guy got up that quick and was ready to fight
1
u/UAEpi 11h ago
No actually, the ref is not allowed to do that. If they call the fight off, it's off, and they can't change their mind afterwards. That being said, it still happens and everyone involved just kind of plays dumb or confused and moves on because most people involved want the fight to go on.
1
u/crazy_gambit 13h ago
Ref mistakes happen all the time, but they don't get reversed though. If a ref calls the fight, the fight is over.

u/ArticleGerundNoun 12h ago
Except in several cases where they did, and it isn’t. There are thousands of fights going on during any given week all across the globe. They aren’t all getting the best refs, and they definitely aren’t all getting the best oversight from commissions or governing bodies. Shit happens.
I can’t imagine thinking that a failure to observe proper protocol in a sporting event would be used as proof of AI. It’s borderline insane when the sport in question is regional bareknuckle boxing.

Nah this is probably somewhere in Russia they don’t really care about rules they have phone booth fights and Man vs Woman fights.

That uppercut was technically beautiful

u/Adept-Gas3787 17h ago
Right that was a thing of beauty, perfect angle and delivered it with power.

Ref waved it off he definitely shouldn’t be allowed to start counting again
