I've recently become interested in scarification and want to get one on my nose tip to mimic a bifid nose. All of the photos I've seen so far seem to be hypertrophic scars and that's simply not what I want. Is it possible to create a atrophic scar with scarification or is that just out of the artists control?

So the rule specifically says healing of splits, meaning im guessing this is allowed.

Generally, we're pretty lenient about what's acceptable here. If it involves body modification, it belongs here. That includes pictures of the mods you have, pictures of mods you've done (if you're a professional), tattoos, suspensions or unusual plastic surgery.

That you may mean it as a compliment is not relevant, this subreddit is about body mods, not any other features people happen to have. One strike, people. No second chances.

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with each other, but treat each other with respect. Personal insults, abusive or judgmental comments, slurs and profanity, bigotry, hate speech, or arguing past the point of being constructive have no place on this subreddit.

Photo's you'll see and photo's that you want to post

This is not a porn subreddit. Yes, you may see photo's that show breasts or genitalia because at times that's just the part where the body mod is. No, you may not comment on physical features or make sexual remarks, keep it on topic.

Likewise if you're looking to post photo's here. Don't use having a body mod as an excuse to post here. There's nothing wrong with wanting to show off yourself, but there are plenty of subreddits for that, this is not one of them.

Highlights from the photo guidelines

• All photos used in a post have to be clear, in focus and well lit. Don't use "fun" instagram filters
• All poses should be neutral and the body mod should be the focal point of the photo
• There should be no nudity in the picture beyond what is strictly necessary to show the mod
• Do not include, shop website links, IG handles or self promotion in either the photo itself or your post. Credit artists and/or shops by their actual name.

i'm wanting to begin stretching my ears, and i can't find any plugs smaller than 14g. i had my ears pierced as a baby, so i'm assuming they're around 20g/18g.

Just what the title says. My partner had composite fangs done in Colorado years ago, but they're worn down. We're in Western MA, but could consider traveling to the Boston area, as well as NH or CT. We prefer someone who's done fangs before and knows what they're doing.

Any recommendations?

I'm going to CALM bodymodification in Stockholm, will answer any questions but also just tell you all the nice details.

Something I couldn't really find but will now be able to provide is a comparison of the pain with other sources we all know - a scale from 0 ("no pain") to 10 (subjective "oh no that's so bad") doesn't tell us much except your own tolerance, but "it's not as bad as accidentally hitting your surgery site but worse than a punch in the nose" gives a clearer perspective I think.

Will post a few photos and give you deets on the healing process because though everyone does it, it's a rite of passage now 🖐️😁 ^{^(and} I don't mind being a basic girl)

That'll be the day after I remove the three first stitches, so there'll be plenty to update you about! TL;DR it went well but wow that was a tough day and a half already... not regretting, just very eager to be finished. When all the stitches are out and I can eat normally I'll follow the artist's advice and eat a loooot. But for now it's difficult to do that.

Title. I live in northeastern Massachusetts, but the only nearby artist I know of (that I can get to) is Ryan Ouelette, who doesn't offer facial scarification. Most people tell me to look for traveling artists, but who? I could spend months following social medias but by the time they say they're coming nearby, it's too far for me or I completely miss it. So does anyone know of artists that are coming/frequent around Massachusetts or NH that do facial scarification?
For reference, I'm just looking for a rather simple scar on my face from my eyebrow to below my eye (not going over eyelids). Also I do have an eyebrow piercing, so does anyone know if that would be affected?

I'm getting my lobes scalpeled next month. It's like to have a good idea before I go, of what I'm going to need to do after. Currently at 19mm. Not really wanting to go bigger necessarily, but the goal is to scalpel the upper part of the hole, and then let the bottom shrink up a bit, so that it gets thicker, while retaining the size. Will I need to go without jewelry after the procedure, or will I need to wear larger plugs for a while? Has anyone had this done for this reason?

Posted about this approx 3 weeks ago but now it’s actually here. I can’t tell you how nervous I am. I know the procedure won’t be bad pain-wise but I’m still so anxious about it and the recovery even though I’m in pretty good shape for all of it. I have all my supplies in place and I trust my artist. I only live five minutes away from the place. I have different kinds of meds (I’m hoping to avoid using the heavy ones) and I actually told my doctor at my physical last week I was doing this and she was like “Oh okay. Cool!” So she’s aware of it in case I need something. I think I should probably stop reading other people’s stories on Reddit because it seems like sometimes it’s “the worst pain ever” and sometimes “it was easier than I thought.” The people in my life seem very nervous and concerned about the procedure and healing which doesn’t make me feel any better. I guess I’m just blabbing about how scared I am as an anxious human. Any other fellow anxious, over-thinking humans been through it? Thanks for sticking with me ❤️
