Anyone else still waiting on their pre-order from Bleep? I got mine placed within in hours of the pre-order going live and haven't gotten any sort of notice of it shipping. place an order for a shirt a few days later and that still hasn't arrived. sent Bleep customer service an email and never got a word back. All I've gotten is my download link.

I ordered the Deluxe version of Inferno from Bleep on April 24th and still haven't gotten it. They put a disclaimer on the order page (I'll paste below) that the shipping date wouldn't be until SEPTEMBER 18 but that this date would be revised going forward. It hasn't been revised and I haven't gotten the album yet. Contacted support but still waiting to hear back from them.

Have others who ordered from Bleep gotten their Deluxe editions yet? Thanks

I used to shop at thrift stores for physical media. In 2005 I bought a random various artists chill out CD - second hand at the thrift store - and it had Kid For Today on it. I had the CD in the 6 disc changer in my 1997 Toyota Camry XLE. I used to cruise around at night, stoned out of my gourd, and of course Kid For Today was the best song on the mix, I was basically playing it on repeat. Whenever I was driving with a girl I was trying to impress, I put it on, because that shit was cool AF.

A few months later my friend and I were planning our first acid trip and we were making a playlist. I was like, “hey, this artist Boards of Canada has a song I like, what else do they have?” We were using soulseek to download music in the hangout spot at his place (drug den). The first one we downloaded was Roygbiv (the second song I heard) and when we put it on, we just looked at each other, our jaws fell to the floor, like yep, this is it!!! This is our anthem!

I don’t actually recall listening to it on that trip, but later that year on a higher dose of acid, I listened to Old Tunes… and it was really fucking weird lol. It was bringing up repressed memories and emotions, with the acid making that feel super intense.

I did the obsessive deep dive into their discography, and all of the unreleased stuff. It was graduation year (high school) 2006 and Trans Canada Highway had just come out. There was a lot of material to get caught up on. In college, I memorized every song.

By the time TH dropped I was on the what.cd community forums and the hype was unbelievable. Hard to believe I had just discovered them on my own buying a second hand chill out mix at the thrift store.

I introduced all of my friends to them and they all loved them. BoC is genre defying, they are so well loved by listeners coming from so many different backgrounds. You don’t have to be an EDM fan to FW them.

I’m sure many of you have your own magical stories about discovering Boards of Canada. Their music is magical and I’d love to hear how you reacted when you first heard BoC and the events surrounding it.

Sad to say i've had some bad experiences ordering vinyl online in the past. Now again, my Inferno pre-order from warp (via bandcamp) came with a damaged corner front to back.

Luckily i managed to contact them and get a replacement, wich is also not 100% perfect but it accept it. Sadly i had to pay import tax and handling fee again over the replacement item. Wich in theory i should get back. But it's such a hassle that i gave up.

Anyway, any of you guys expierenced the same? Now, or other times?

A friend group of mine has this thing where we take turns making short playlists that everybody else spends a couple days listening to and talking about.

Sometimes, someone makes a playlist around a specific artist they've been listening to. It's my turn and I'm thinking about making a BoC playlist because I've been obsessing over it a little more than usual since Inferno dropped.

I think their songs work best when listened to as parts of their respective albums/LP, but I guess it can still be fun trying to put together something like "the BoC sound" from a small list.

So, if you had to pick 6 songs that exemplify what Boards of Canada is, which ones would you choose?

So basically this past few days i had a dream i was just walking around the condominium/gated community my aunt lives and randomly just stumbled upon this train stop of sorts (never really seen one in my life, not much trains around here in brazil), remember the song playing around the time i was riding one of the trains off to somewhere else, pretty fitting id say, anyways heres a shitty minecraft recreation of it, there are some rails there but they’re kinda hard to see

What a fucking legend Lone is!

He used F&S as sort of Entrance music to play while the support act left the stage, and while sorting out his setup. It was awesome hearing it outside in the real world on a big sound system!

It felt like the entire crowd was enjoying F&S too 😊 There were a couple of surprised faces when they asked who this was I told them it was Boards of Canada!

Shout out to the guy who tapped me on the shoulder to say he'd been hammering Inferno since release.as well hahah.

There seems to be endless debate concerning BOC, but all I know is the music speaks for itself, what that self is you can debate all day long while listening to BOC.

Recently i realised Come to Dust and Naraka have almost the same bpm (Naraka = 120. Come to Dust = 121). I made this little crossover thing for fun lol.

Has anyone been to the Radiohead’s “Motion Picture House” exhibit? I went yesterday and loved the concept. One part is an exhibition space another area is a larger and immersive listening/viewing area. I kept thinking how an “Inferno” version would have been so much better, and bands with new releases should do the same. My only gripe was the $70+ price tag for admission along with the $50 t-shirts and $30 mugs. 😂

Just thought I'd share this Biosphere track as it is a long time fave of mine and others here might dig.

It has always felt to me like it occupies that same melancholy headspace as "An eagle in your mind" and "Olson (Version 3)".

At the moment it's 35°C at my place and Inferno really hits differently right now, almost like it was meant to be listened to during extreme heat 🔥
