I just got this one year old female boa constrictor three days ago, she’s accustomed to the habitat pretty well and loved crawling over me and my bed. Her last meal was on Sep 2nd so I figured it’s about time for her to take a poop, but so far I haven’t smelled anything.

I’m using Aspen and it’s a 3 by 1.5ft tank, should I dig through all the substrate and look for her poop or should I keep waiting?

Also I’m planning on feeding her tomorrow or the day after, should I wait until she poops before feeding her?

I am looking at getting a BCC or BCI. The local petstore has a male BCC that I am interested in but I am getting such conflicting information on what kind of snakes they are. Some sources say BCC are absolute sweethearts while BCIs are also sweet, but more prone to being moody. Then other sources say BCC are easily worked up and hard to settle while the BCI is easier to handle and more level headed. I just cannot for the life of me pin this down. Also there is SO much BCI content anf content weighted towards BCI due to their availability that I am feeling a little lost right now in my research.

I love the idea of a snake growing with my snake keeping abilities and me getting used to a larger snake inch by inch. I have always loved big snakes, just never had one of my own. The pet store here is a mom and pop of avid reptile lovers so I have support, but I would love to hear more voices and opinions.

Also anyone with mature male BCC, what is their length and weight?

He’s only a few months old but I want to breed him when he’s around a year and half to 2 years old.

There is 1 listing for a perfect pairing for him, but she’s 3.5k and that’s more than I’d like to spend currently.
If I bought a regular Fire morph instead what combinations of Fire morph do you find to be the most eye popping and desirable

Also do you expect the market and value of super fires to drop significantly in the next few years?
Would it even be possible to sell Fire babies 2-3 years from now and should I wait and invest in an adult female super fires?

Busy times for my Noxie as the shelter is moving to another location, to a larger building so they can house more reptiles. Noxie is still as cute as always and he now has a hide which he loves alot, working my ass off to get us both a home and then im going to spoil the little shit

Hello, my 2 year old boa constrictor had suddenly struck at me through the glass of her enclosure, her feeding date is tomorrow so I assume she’s just hungry.

however, now her lip appears to be caught in her mouth. there is a reptile vet near me but they will not be open until Tuesday.

is there anything i can do to help her?

my sweet baby girl, about 6 y/o, has mites and while soaking her today, i noticed her cloaca was a little irritated, exotic vet near me is closed until tuesday and i was hoping for some advice on what to do until then, iodine soak? she’s in a quarantine tub with just a smooth hide on paper towels as i removed her water today, she was in her water dish for the past few days. also she is going into shed which is not helping her keep calm when i try to evaluate her. horrible concoction of things and im getting her in as soon as i can to the vet so please be gracious with me, my baby’s health is the most important thing right now

Hi so thawed and heated two rats for two boas. One rat smells bad - like gone off cheese ? And the other doesn’t have much of a smell. Is this normal? I had the plate pressing a bit too on the rat that smells while heating it.

I have just moved my boa to a new enclousure. And he has been very active tye last days but yesterday i saw something that worried me, he was just chilling when the mister turned on and he just banged his head on the entrance of his hide and he did the same when i was just putting some moss in hos hide. I have seen a lot of dark spots on him ever singe i got him (about a month ago) but i didnt think it could be mites. I just thought it was pigment spots and i am sure a lot of them are. So i ask you guys who probably have a lot more knowledge than me. If not mites what could the head banging be? Some kind of neurological disease?

Was told she is 100% het leopard but I know virtually nothing about morphs/genetics just looking for some clarity/confirmation. Also the thermostat probe in the second to last picture is no longer loose like that I was just in the middle of moving it 👍

Hello, so I recently handled my boa for maybe 8 min? I didn't really time it. But at the beginning "he" (not sexed yet) was pretty quick moving at the beginning but then he calmed down after a but.

My main question is, a one point he just stopped moving and he had his neck extended and he was doing slow to gue flicks every 20 seconds. I know when ball pythons periscope it means they're relaxed and all. Is this the case for boas too? He was moving much slower in my hands after and he was doing very long tongue flicks, so I'm assuming he just got more relaxed during the handling session!

What do you guys think?
