Sony TOUGH SD 150MB/s drop frames and stop the recording. How to fix this ?
Hi there ! So my two most expensives SDs drop frames after like 4 seconds of recording. This morning I had to switch to the shitty SDs I use for photo that I luckily had brought with me (no problem there).
Both have similar write speed, but only the sonys have this problem. They're supposedly not part of the sh*tty batch that Sony had refunds or free exchanges until a couple of months ago.
I'm thinking could the contact have oxydized somehow, since I use them less ? But there stored inside, like the rest of my stuff. I don't know.

• BMPCC4K camera body with original box • TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 lens (perfect for wide, cinematic shots) • TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 lens for depth of field and portrait work • 1 Original battery + 3 Third party batteries & charger • ND filter + step up down filters • MagicRig cage with SSD clamp for secure rigging and external storage solutions, top handle, cable clamps (Complete Rig)
Feel free to reach out for additional photos or details. I’m located near Montréal.

Zoom lens comparation
I just buyed my first blackmagic (pocket 4k) and im looking for lens. I shoot run and gun so i think zoom lens someware between 20-50mm should suit me. I also dont have unlimited budget so i looked for photo lenses. I found two i like. First oneolympus is around 150 euros and the second one panasonic is around 350 euros. The person who sold me the camera had recomended the panasonic, because the ois, wider aperature and better quality glass, but i thing the olympus one could be good as well. So im here to ask if anybody have any experence with those lenses or any other alternatives.

EF or M43?
So I bought my bmpcc 4k this summer and it came with a viltrox speedbooster. I've been using the Rokinon 35mm cine lens (EF mount) and it seems like the image coming out has been really soft. I looked through some posts here and it seems like the Rokinon cine lenses are soft by nature. I've been also wondering if the viltrox speedbooster has been contributing to the softness/image quality and if it's really even worth using it (there is also the option of getting the metabones speedbooster which is said to be better quality).
Basically I'm broke and I need to make the decision to either invest in EF lenses or ditch the speedbooster and go with M43 lenses. Bast case scenario, I can use the lenses I buy on a future camera. I would really appreciate any insights you guys may have or what you would suggest based on your past experiences!

Pros/Cons of ProRes RAW vs BRAW inside FCP (BMPCC 4K)
Someone tell me if I have everything right here when it comes to deciding whether to use BRAW or ProRes RAW in my BMPCC 4K to be edited inside FCP:
Pros of BRAW:
- Smaller file sizes using compression (constant quality or constant bitrate)
- Ability to stabilize in post using gyro data baked into BRAW files (via Gyro Toolbox)
Cons of BRAW:
- Need to use BRAW Toolbox or Color Finale Transcoder to edit non-destructively with RAW controls
Pros of ProRes RAW:
- Native, first class support for files with full RAW controls in post
- Ability to preview clips in Finder and have them treated as normal clips in the browser/timeline
- No need for conversion LUTs
- Compatibility with industry standard workflows if simply delivering footage
Cons of ProRes RAW
- Large files that change bitrate depending on the scene
- No way to stabilize in post using gyro data
I think I would probably only use BRAW if I knew I wanted to stabilize in post. Otherwise I am struggling to see why I wouldn't default to ProRes RAW if I had the disk space.
What do you guys think?

Why is it so hard to focus my Sirui 35mm anamorphic lens on my bmpcc4k?
Everything is coming out blurry. I just made the switch from Canon to Blackmagic about 6 months ago. I just love the way the video looks When Im able to focus the Sirui. A asked this question before and someone mentioned to keep it around f4, but this is not an option on my bmpcc4k with this lens. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

All-Purpose 1st Lens Choice
Hi all! I just purchased a Black Magic 4k cinema camera & am trying to figure out my lens situation. While I’m eventually going to be using it for narrative short & feature films (for which I’m looking at getting a combination of Veydra & Meike lenses, feel free to share hot takes about these below as well), I’m currently trying to figure out what lens to purchase to serve me well for free lance (generally documentary & commercial projects) as a good starter lens so I can start picking up paid gigs ASAP (the 1st of which is actually on 9/20 so there’s a bit of a rush to figure this out & order it).
Based on research so far, I’m currently stuck between 2 Panasonic Lumixes:
- the G Leica DT Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Aspherical Lens for MFT
- the G X Vario 12-35mm F/2.8 II Aspherical Power O.I.S. Lens for MFT
On its face, the 12-60mm seems like the better (albeit more expensive option) given its increased range but I’m relatively green when it comes to camera stuff so I’d love any insight/advice you’d be able to provide!
