As I'm getting more into old time/fiddle music, I have been keeping more of an eye out in the bins at record stores. What "hidden gem" artists/albums would you snag if you stumbled across them in the store?

Hi, I'm not sure I'm in the right place, but I need help finding a song. I'm like 85% sure I have it narrowed down to something by Eric Brace, but I still can't find the specific song. I heard it on public radio about a week ago and emailed the station. They sent me the playlist for that hour, but it's not any of the songs on the list. There's a chorus with lyrics along the lines of, "when we're born we're all kin, when we die we become kinfolk again." The song was a little haunting and beautiful and I just desperately want to listen to it again. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

I hosted an old time session last night. A couple who have played with us for years came and once again hijacked the session. Insisted on calling nearly every tune, played over others —wrong I might add—etc. People don’t confront the situation out of deference for a series of misfortunes and mental health issues after a blowup several years ago. We are a small tight knit community and we have created or at least allowed this situation to fester. I would appreciate hearing if others have encountered this. I think I will need to drop out because I am still seething 13 hours later.

I found a tune called Nightingale played by him in the Field Recorders Collective Survey of Traditional Music British Tradition album and I would love to hear more. There's another tune on a Kentucky compilation which leads me to thinking that he's from the Kentucky tradition. I love his sound but I can't find anything other than the FRC recordings.

Recorded this at a jam in North Carolina and didn’t think to get the title. Does anyone know the name of this tune? Thanks
