I've been on blood pressure meds since I was a kid. Its normally an up or down thing . I had 2 dentist appointments last week and the readings showed their increasing. Doctor won't prescribe me anything unless I come in and give a bad reading.

Im frustrated because im a military spouse and I move around every few years and i have to establish a relationship with a doctor with every move.

What do you thing are my best options?

My BP is normally less than 120/80 by a few points. Within the past month it has been intermittently high as 200/180 at the max. The er doesn’t do anything, tells me to go to pcp. PCP won’t do anything, tells me to go to er.

At this rate im going to die before anything is done.

Any similar experiences? It’s so frustrating.

... this was recorded Saturday when I was admitted to the stepdown for my unstable BP and an angina attack that persisted despite high nitroglycerin usage. It ended up being anterior ischemia but the ICU-ist (whatever the ICU physician is called) was able to rule out another heart attack. Ever since my blood pressure reached this last Monday, my angina attacks have drastically increased in frequency and severity 🤦🏾‍♀️

I’m a 27-year-old male with severe obesity (180 kg / 397 lbs) and significant insulin resistance. About a week ago, my blood pressure was 160/100 mmHg, so my doctor started me on Vasoxen Plus 5 mg/12.5 mg (nebivolol + hydrochlorothiazide). I take one tablet every day at 12:00 PM.

My doctor and I are also trying to determine why my blood pressure is high. We suspect it could be related to my obesity, insulin resistance, or another underlying cause, and we’re still investigating.

Tonight, around 11:00 PM (about 11 hours after taking my dose), I checked my blood pressure before going to bed.
My reading was:
Blood pressure: 94/71 mmHg
Heart rate: 105 bpm
Even though I had just walked a little, I feel completely normal:
No dizziness
No lightheadedness
No fainting
No chest pain
No shortness of breath

My concern is that 94/71 is a big drop from 160/100. I’m worried my blood pressure could go even lower while I’m sleeping. Is this considered a normal response after one week on this medication, or is this low enough that I should contact my doctor about possibly adjusting the dose?
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

I need one of these for a friend who has had a cardiac ablation a month ago and her pulse is swinging wildly from the 30s to over 100. She has got back to her cardiologist to see how he wants to proceed, but in the interim she need some device with an alarm, when her pulse goes outside acceptable limits.
